Based on DarkStar's tip using MultiParameters to affect the Gain/Q simultaneously (here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 8&t=434606). I started this to learn about MultiParameters, and ended up modifying his idea to make a "Notching EQ Preset" using 4 MPs tied to 4 EQ nodes.
Basically, the idea is to push up an EQ node using one of the MPs, click the node with your mouse and hunt around until you find an offending frequency, then use the same MP and pull the Gain down until the frequency is effectively notched out of the track.
Here's how it is used:
1. Load the Preset. (added to exchange)
FYI, each of the 4 MultiParameters has 7 Banks for the different Gain/Q combinations. Here, I have clicked on the label for "EQ2 Gain/Q" in the MultiParameters section.
2. Next, click on the Gain button under the label and raise it to it's maximum positive value (+20 dB). The MP will stop at +20dB and adjust the Q to wide-ish 1.5. Click the "2" and move it Left/Right to find an offensive frequency you would like to get rid of.

3. Next, grab the MP button and reduce the Gain until you're satisfied with the results. As the Gain is reduced, the Q is adjusted upwards by the MP so the notch gets narrower the more you lower the Gain. 4. After you've got the Gain where you want it, you can use the mouse wheel to further adjust the Q. However, if you use the MP button again, the Q will reset according to the Bank in the MP. You can repeat the process with 3,4,and 5 to help clean up some nasty frequencies on a track.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone!
Best,
Mike
