I probably won't make myself very popular with this but I trust that you are intending to charge us for something sooner or later - a man has got to eat!
Maybe the VST/AU bridge?

Commercial plugins will come around the v1.0 release, in November or December. Cool stuff lurking ahead.
Rack, all the current plugins, and the VCV Bridge VST/AU plugins will always be free / open source.

VCV rack is that exciting for me as VAZ modular was back in the days. Speaking of Serge I think any "flavor" would be cool ask all "Serge" manufactures, or even Serge himself. "Serge" inspired modules could be crafted to like Vaz did.
Any teaser of what the Commercial plugins will be?

The only one I can "tease" about right now is an original Grayscale design with a few advanced sequencers and a few analog modeling sound sources and processors. It's completely under his umbrella right now and I have no idea what he'll come up with.

Serge designs would be absolutelynwonderfull. I had a large 9 panel system back in the day ans still have 4 panels of working Driscoll/Serge modules.
A friend just showed with a bunch of the euroSerge format modules by ramdom source and they have the spirit both in sound and panel design, specially when using stackables.
IMO the fundamental serge modules would be:
DSG: those slopes can be anything from LFOs to ENV generators, to filters or env dollowers.
SSG/RVS: random dream but also lot of functios inside
TWF: the triple wavefolder make some harmonics like no other wave trimbre modifier
SEQ: the sequencer/programmer with direct input to trigger each stage would be a wonderfull adition, specially if you can assign a midi button or note tomselect the stage!!
NCOM: comparator + VC divider: here you have all odd subdivisions drom 1 to /32. Lots of functions inside, a gem.
WCM: the wave multipliers (3 different ones in the module) contribute to most of the serge sound.
I hope someone can make the VCV Serge collection!!!!!

Some (cheeky) feature requests.
I expect you have the first three of these in the pipeline but the fourth is a little more obscure so could I add it as a feature request?
1. Master volume control + meters.
2. Scaleabilty (I note the SVG graphics so I guess this is planned).
3. Multi-outs from audio and CV sources.
4. Some sort of digital post-it note so patches can be annotated. Maybe clicking on a screwhead would bring it up and close it and the screwhead could change colour to indicate that it has a note attached?
That's probably a totally mad idea but I look at patches I made in Blocks or Softube Modular a few months back and sometimes have no idea what I was thinking at the time.

1. Will be included in the "Audio Interface revamp" in v0.4.0. https://github.com/VCVRack/Rack/issues/82
2. Aiming for v0.5.0. https://github.com/VCVRack/Rack/issues/76
3. Will be included in v0.4.0. https://github.com/VCVRack/Rack/issues/57
4. Interesting. It would be fun to give screws a purpose. Kinda too whimsical though. Maybe just a toolbar button to type information in a text box, which would be saved along with the patch, and automatically open when the patch is opened (if you want to use it for patch credits or instructions for users). Added to https://github.com/VCVRack/Rack/issues/152

Yeah that sounds good - Maybe a 'dymo' labelling system under dials and rack names i.e. this sort of thing:vortico wrote:4. Interesting. It would be fun to give screws a purpose. I don't know about everyone else, I'm rather partial to a bit of whimsy...

I find when I stick them to the screen that they don't move when I scroll.
