I wonder if they've spent any time at all improving the piano roll editor - to make it as intuitive as Music Studio Independence's? I doubt it though - too busy producing hyped up features instead of getting the most basic ones right. I still can't even use the free copy of Cubasis VST that came with my 0404 card, because I can't select either a midi instrument or my DB50XG to midi out!

anyway i've ordered already (149e), should ship around 15th as my distributor said. however i will get an extra cd-r to burn bugfixes as they come.

Hmm, well I just tried to order the SX1 ==> SX3 upgrade from Steinberg USA, and they told me that they aren't taking any orders, as the SX3 announcement was made a week and a half prematurely and they haven't decided what the upgrade prices should be. I didn't ask if they were taking orders for the full version.

Wow....just saw the real announcement on the front page....sounds like a necassary upgrade. ; )
And i'm assuming with all the focus they put on the freeze function that they have fixed the old freezing bugs.

Yup,
Just ordered my upgrade £99, upgraded my HALion v2 to v3 whilst I was at it!
Looking forward to it, Steinberg Germany reckons it starts shipping from them around the 6th September.

Its not that long since we had to fork out for an upgrade to sx2, this bastard should be free!

No one forced you to upgrade, you coulda waited and upgraded from v1?Its not that long since we had to fork out for an upgrade to sx2, this bastard should be free!
2.2 was free and you got a bunch of VSTi's with.

Would it have made you happier if they'd held of on the new VSTs that they gave away for free with 2.2 and incorporated them into SX3. Would that make you feel like you were getting more?Looks like it should be an update for SX 2, nothing really major to offer.

Not an attitude per se, but I do get rattled when people think that the world owes them something.
Simple philosophy, if ya don't like it, don't buy it. Buy something else!
Although I suspect you could substitute Cubase for Logic or FL or Reason or Ableton or ......

Now that's interesting!! If they'd released it with 2.0, it might have stopped all the people who were saying.....Interestingly, it looks like they "held off" releasing those VST instruments when they released 2.0, as some of the files needed by them were on the 2.0 installation CD.
