I dont have any problem waiting for R5, enjoying using my other u-he instruments to create music :) Faves right now are Bazille and Hive (& Diva). Imo Bazille is the real Diva of u-he, quite cpu hungry, but for good reason. Now I have a computer that can handle it though. I wonder if Repro-5 will be even more demanding.

My secret (well, not anymore) wish for the Repro-5:
That the wonderful Prophet 5 sound from Radiohead's "Everything In Its Right Place" will be there as a preset.

Oh, I'm sure the Repro-5 will be lovely and worth the wait no matter what, but what a cherry on top that preset would be.

The soothing pad sound?

It's not that special, though it sounds great. Easy to make yourself. Quick search reveals...

Thanks for sharing that tutorial Zero...now I can hear it.

krans you are right right, it does sound nice. I could not hear it very well over the vocals in that song so I thought it was a pad.

Repro-5 is gonna rock!

Sounds like a Rhodes and live it was played on a Rhodes. :)

Yes, this is a good tutorial, and I really like Helm aswell. Still I think the Repro-5 will be able to make it sound even richer and firmer. There's something about that U-he sound. The wonders of Repro-1 in a polyphonic version - I look so much forward to it!

And of course, it's just a question of turning knobs and fiddling around to make the Repro-5 get this beautiful dark rhodesy sound - a preset would simply save us some work. And then we could tweak the sound from there, getting it our own way. It's not like we really need presets for anything, right? Still, they make life easier and more fun.

Also, I think the U-he engineers actually have better skills than me at making great patches. You know, I've heard U-he presets before.

Been enjoying polyphony with several instances of repro-1 using pizMIDI for voice allocation (hint: try settimg those trimmers a bit different for each "voice" and lock them )
How do you easily change sounds? Is there a wy other than changing each repro1 instance one by one?? :tu:

I must try this klinik!

I compared the two, and the Flypaper sounds nice but is quite a bit off from the original. I played around with Arturia Prophet V3, and came way closer. Still not perfect, but close. Can't wait to try it on Repro-5 eventually.

By itself the patch is not that impressive. Radiohead takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary. Here's my result: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j6vuun2qjna42 ... 5.m4a?dl=1

That's close but does not include the part where the filter opens (on L and R differently).
So for the right stereo impression it's important to record L and R separately. ;)

EDIT: Huh. It turned it into an embedded player which doesn't work. Right-click to open in a new tab and that works.
To fix this: At the end of the dropbox url, change dl=0 to dl=1
This will allow it to play immediately without opening a new browser tab.

Yeah, but that's a slightly different patch later in the song. Notice the resonance sweep? No resonance in the beginning patch. Not to mention that you can't have separate L/R filter envelopes on a P5, so, as you note, this is done with two tracks at that point. I was just trying to get close to the relevant patch by using a midi file I found online.

Thanks! Fixed.

Use the MIDI Programs folder, and then change patches via Bank Select/Program Change messages.
