Hi there,
yes, I know, similar questions have already been asked but I am still struggling to understand the EQ product line up.
Originally I though there were 2 of which I did not understand the differences and now I have noticed there might be a 3rd one...seems to much for me to understand:

1.MAutoEqualizer - which is currently on sale from 149 to 75 Euros
http://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutoEqualizer (http://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutoEqualizer)

2.MAutoDynamicEq - for 99 Euros
https://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutoDynamicEq (https://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutoDynamicEq)

3.MDynamicEq
http://www.meldaproduction.com/mdynamiceq/ (http://www.meldaproduction.com/mdynamiceq/)

With regard to the first two I wonder if I understand correct:
-Key difference between 1 and 2 is the linear phase thing which is only offered by MAutoEqualizer which is why it is regularly more expensive?
-Both 1 and 2 can be used for automated spectrum matching/cloning
-But MAutoDynamicEq seems to have some more filters etc. than the more expensive one?

Can anybody help? I really would like to buy one, especially for the spectrum matching, and the MAutoEquilazer is currently on sales. However, I believe linear phase is no focus area for me and wonder if I am right that I will
-pay for something even if it is on sales that I do not need and
-potentoilly miss any super funky filters from the cheaper small brother product...?

Or as a simple question: What should I buy if I want...
-Must have: automated spectrum matching/cloning
-Should have: nice warm sound
-Nice to have: dynamic equalisation

Many thanks in advance...I can't believe I can figure this out...

Sticking with your numbers (and because i'm lazy)

1 - has the most EQ bands (10), auto-eq but no dynamic eq. Has multiparameters. Does not have additional low/high pass filters.

2 - has 7 EQ bands, dynamic eq and auto-eq. Has modulators and multiparameters. Has additional low and high pass filters.

3 - has 5 EQ bands, dynamic eq but no auto-eq. Has multiparameters. Has additional low and high pass filters.

They all share the same EQ types, so the sound will be identical. To clarify, the additional filters mentioned above can be carried out by any of the existing bands... the additional filters are actually pretty simplified compared to the ones in the bands in that they only have a 'slope' option and nothing else (e.g. resonance).

I have all three (which is why I could check this for you)... and I use Dynamic about 75% of the time... AutoDynamic 25% of the time, usually when I need modulators and auto-eq. I never use AutoEQ... well, unless i need the extra 3 bands when doing auto-EQ'ing. But that's pretty much never. Generally I stick to DynamicEQ because I like to have minimal clutter on screen, but if i had to purchase ONE, I'd get AutoDynamic... but I'm a sound designer rather than a music guy, so I have slightly different needs to most people.

I have the TotalFXBundle, and I only use MAutoDynamicEq.

Just my 2 cents.
I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

vectorwarrior describes the differences well, and i would concurr that MAutoDynamicEQ would be the one of three to choose, if limited to one. It straddles the utility of the other two, nicely.

The linear phase filtering, offered by MAutoEqualizer, has the boon of extremely steep falloff. This pic shows the before (left) and after (right), linear phase EQ, spectral profile of a sawtooth.

Hello all,
firstly thanks for the elaborate feedback, which is extremely helpful ... @vectorwarrior, I guess the best clarification I found on this topic!

I think I will go basically with the (more or less) recommendation for the MAutoDynamicEQ as a bundle seems a bit too much for the moment.

Although I have to confess the visualisation of the steep falloff looks impressing...

Thanks again and I am sure I will not be the only one who will benefit from this,

Cheers

MAutoDynamicEQ is all you'll need! I'm very happy with it and use it all the time. I use the EQ bands both statically and dynamically. I often wish there was at least one more band so don't go for the 5 band version.

I agree, MAutoDynamicEq is THE go-to (not only) EQ.
