Yeah, that soundscape demo is really nice. The dubstep one also sounds good though I'm not into this kind of stuff. Unlike most other dubstep I've heard it sounds somehow warm (at least not as abrasive as typical Serum-centered dubstep).
ANA seems to be equally good at warm/mellow/lush things and rougher sounds.

You seem genuinely impressed. I know how discriminating you are with synths so that says a lot.recursive one wrote:Yeah, that soundscape demo is really nice. Actually I may be setting my expectations way too highwagtunes wrote:You seem genuinely impressed. But I like what I've heard so far. That's not to say the sounds I've heard in the demos are impossible to make with synths I already have but I like the sound character. Not that I expect ANA to be the next Virus but I hope it will be s good all-rounder synth for modern sounds like Spire, maybe with somehow warmer, more analogue-like sound (at least the filters).

Pretty much.recursive one wrote:Not that I expect ANA to be the next Virus but I hope it will be s good all-rounder synth for modern sounds like Spire, maybe with somehow warmer, more analogue-like sound (at least the filters).
For me, choosing one synth over another is more about sweet spots than features. There are plenty of synths out there that do everything.
So far ANA2 is all sweet spot.

I don't know if this has been answered before (my excuses if it was) but does ANA 2 come with a wavetable editor? If so, can it be compared with, for example, the one in Serum?tehlord wrote:Pretty much.recursive one wrote:Not that I expect ANA to be the next Virus but I hope it will be s good all-rounder synth for modern sounds like Spire, maybe with somehow warmer, more analogue-like sound (at least the filters).

No we havnt done a wavetable editor... we figured for the nerdy minority in to making their own wave tables they probably have Serum or use something else.fmr wrote:I don't know if this has been answered before (my excuses if it was) but does ANA 2 come with a wavetable editor? We have a simple waveform drawing program that draws single cycles. It’s an internal thing but we might make it availabil if there’s much interest.

I have a bunch of wav. files which Serum recognizes as wavetables and properly scans through them (apparently they were recorded when someone sweeped through Virus TI wavetables). Will ANA accept these?Phil Sonic Academy wrote:No we havnt done a wavetable editor... we figured for the nerdy minority in to making their own wave tables they probably have Serum or use something else.fmr wrote:I don't know if this has been answered before (my excuses if it was) but does ANA 2 come with a wavetable editor? Thanks for the "nerdy minority"Phil Sonic Academy wrote:No we havnt done a wavetable editor... we figured for the nerdy minority in to making their own wave tables they probably have Serum or use something else.fmr wrote:I don't know if this has been answered before (my excuses if it was) but does ANA 2 come with a wavetable editor? I don't understand why building wavetables is considered so "nerdy", but yes, I have Serum, and also Tone 2 Icarus.
I, for one, would be interested, but something that would, at least, assemble those in a slot by slot basis would be welcome, neverthelessPhil Sonic Academy wrote:We have a simple waveform drawing program that draws single cycles. Don’t get me wrong I’m the nerdiest of nerds...
Ana 2 can use serum wavetables.. or any sequence of 2048 single cycles.. we don’t currently have any morphing or interpolation so wavetables would need to have their frames rendered out to 32, 64, 128 or 256 frames.
Most 3rd party tables seem to be fully rendered.
For ones that aren’t you can resample then export inside serum if you have it.
We might do more on this side of things if it’s an issue for a lot of users.
