I'll give that a try, too. Am I right in assuming that it doesn't matter where I unzip the Rack folder, as long as I keep the folder structure intact?

I didn't see the popup and read his message incorrectly. With no popups and no incorrect version modules I was experiencing similar behavior when I first loaded vcv. That problem went away when I chose a different driver or closed the program that was using the original driver.

this problem is 99% casued by old Rack version OR old plugins version. Just make sure you have the latest version (0.32 at the moment) delete ALL plugins used by 0.31 and resintall/refresh them for the latest version...
Yes, You can unzip Rack anywhere you want, I have it on different machines on win/mac/linux on multiple locations...

this has already been reported and I believe Andrew is already working on it ;-)
I worked my way around this problem by momentarily changing my screen from horizontal to vertical and then changing it back to horizontal after loading the out of reach modules I needed.

....this is my first post at KVR btw...the awesome VCV Rack brought me here. :hyper:

the "long module" list is well known and already fixed in the current sources, just wait until next release that should be soon (a week or so, I believe...)
some possible workarounds:

1) max you screen resolution
2) temorarily remove some modules folder (like mine for example). if you want them back it's mainly a matter of copy/paste
3) rotate the screen vertically so to gain some additional pixels
4) use some kind of "desktop scroller" or expander which would probably allow you to scroll behind desktop limits...

Post

Well, I've made a little progress. After deleting the old version, installing the latest one, and refreshing plugins, all of the modules are showing in the list, and most of them load ok. The audio interface take forever to load, but it eventually does. Most of the other modules load very quickly. A few, however, don't load, and crash Rack as soon as I try.

I started to go back through the list again so I could list all of the handful that crash, but after trying to load Macro Oscillator crashed Rack this time, restarting Rack simply results in a blank white window. I'll check into the others that are crashing in the next few days, but I need to get to sleep.

Edit: I forgot to mention that before the crash, I had no problems patching the modules that had loaded, and I liked what I heard.

You're probably running with an AMD Phenom II CPU. Support for that will be added in v0.4.0.

let me add

5) you kan display eg 4k on a hd monitor with graphics cards with Nvidia maxwell architecture. Look for DSR in the settings of the driver or get an overview here:

If that was a response to my post, I just checked, and that is the cpu I have in my main computer. I suppose I should wait until that version is released.

I was wondering, how new of a Mac is needed to run VCV Rack? I have an older Mac Mini (one of the first ones), but wasn't sure if it would meet the system requirements. I couldn't find any info on the web site.

I have a Macbook (not Pro) from 2007 with MacOS 10.7, and it works fine. Kind of slow, but for something 10 years old, it's hit or miss.

I may give it a try, but I have so little free time, it may not be worth the effort. I'll just wait for 0.4.0.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on this, very promising (and pretty fun already!)...

No VST parameters, for the first version of VCV Bridge at least.
Will we be able to load multiple bridges in the DAW? It would be amazing if I could pass multiple CV sources from multiple tracks in the DAW to and from VCV.

Either way, I'm still psyched and very greatful for all of this!! :hyper:

Post

Yes, I think the limit is 64 bridge modules or something ridiculous. Each corresponds to a single bridge VST/AU plugin, and they don't have to be in the same DAW.
