The tonal balance looks interesting. Nothing too special, but a nice visualisation of your mix tonal balance.
Someone has already taken a look at it and other features, which could be interesting for a meldaproduction „mixing revolution“?

I checked and to be honest, no surprise for me... It seems like long term analysis in MAutoDynamicEq and MAutoEqualizer, just displayed in a few bars...

Yeah I like izotope stuff, but ozone and neutron seem like they're being over marketed as magic wands that do more than they actually do. I haven't been able to see what the fuss is all about.

I liked the frequency balancing thing too. It doesn’t seem to complicated, but its useful. I’d like to see something like that in the mixing revolution.
Most of the other stuff seems to be lots of hype and little substance though.

I bought Neutron nine months ago primarily for the masking features which was really useful. However, while the individual plugins are decent, I have better alternatives that are my go-to's.
Now iZotope seem to have moved to a 12 month pay-thru-the-nose policy for updates with no support for older products. No thanks, I'm out.
Time to look at MMultiAnalyser again for masking duties...

The visual mixer looks like an easy and comfortable way of mixing volume and pan balance.
The nice thing about tonal balance you can use third party plugs, like Melda?;-)
I think it’s great for the low end, where many people have problems, because of bad rooms and monitors. It could help not overshooting the low end.
The interaction of all plugins is also nice. You don’t have to close, search and open new plugin windows all the time. Mostly you can handle it from one window.
I won’t buy it but still hoping for some of these features for the melda lineup.

I have to say after trying tonal balance a little bit more, it helped me getting my mix cleaner and more balanced in the low end. Any possibilities to add something like this into mmultianalyser or maybe mcompare?
The visual is really useful for a static mix with volume balance and panning. All signals in one overview, only missing a depth feature, like delay and reverb inside the window. Maybe Vojtech can do it better, if he’s interested in something like this?!
Thanks and greets,
Marek

Well, I'll think about it for the big thing, but no addition like this to MMultiAnalyzer, sorry. Btw. what does it do exactly? Because to me it really looks just like an the source/target analysis in MAutoDynamicEq.

Well, it doesn’t do any vodoo, but you are able to load 10 reference songs at once as your tonal balance reference, so you can get in the same sweet spot in the lows, mids and highs. But it only analysis and compares. From there you have a visual hint and must need your ears as always. The cool thing, you can use third party plugins, but why should I buy a whole bundle for one feature?
What about the visual mixer? You can do one on steroids;-). This one is not really deep, but a great idea to me.

That's kind of cool actually. Very basic but a nice idea.
So I could load 10 of my favourite tracks in that genre and it will give me the average levels for all of them? I suppose it gives you a reference from the genre rather than an individual track, which I would find useful. Not sure I like the view though, its far too simple in bands like that, although I think I read that there is a more detailed view available also.

What's the this in your statement? The tonal thing or the masking detection?MeldaProduction wrote:Well, I'll think about it for the big thing, but no addition like this to MMultiAnalyzer, sorry.
I didn't try out Neutron, but from the screenshots I thought that Neutron will tell you what frequencies are masked all by "magic". Of course you can do that by listening (gasp) or by looking at MMultiAnalyzer's output.
So do you mean by not adding a masking detector to MMultiAnalyzer that we will get a MAutoMultiAnalyzer? Will there be an upgrade path for MMultiAnalyzer owners?

There's no need to buy if you don't want to. At least they offer upgrades from lower versions and you do not need to subscribe for virtually halted development like in AVID land.neverbeeninariot wrote:I bought Neutron nine months ago primarily for the masking features which was really useful. Of course Melda is the best here from a customer point of view.
SOUND!

Svama: Much more than that is planned! I'm afraid I'm less and less impressed by iZotope and their neverending "revolutionary" thing blablabla. Before these were simple tools for the job, not my thing, but I'm fine with that. But now they are the same, just say how revolutionary everything is, give it some cool name, and it's just long term spectrum analysis...(yeah, I'm talking about this "tonal balance" thing...) Checked it out and sorry, not impressed. As far as visual mixer, yes, that's planned for the mixing thingy
. But far more powerful...
masito: I don't think there's any magic really. At least from what I tried there wasn't. The only new thing was the detection of "what is the track", which worked in less than 50% in my case, so it's imho easier to select you are processing say vocals or something, than waiting for the software to analyse something ending up with something completely different
. But in this case I like they at least tried! It's a very difficult task after all.
Oliver: Haha I hope there's no sarcasm

I certainly will!
But it will take time
