hi
i'm new to tracktion and i'm experiencing a weird problem with tracktion...
i think my soundcard is well configured in my "settings" (i'm using a m-audio ozone, working fine);
when i load a vsti (for example tweakbench padawan...), and play it with my external keyboard, the sound comes out dirty, as if i was using some kind of distortion...
no plugin is used onmy track, nor on the monitor out...
i thought it was my soundcard which was going wrong, so, to verify, i opened Fruity loops and tested the same configuration : it worked fine..
i opened minihost : i worked fine too..
i opened tracktion a new time : the dirty sound was here, as if it was playing 4bit/22150HZ or something like that...
so, what's up ??
does anybody had the same problem and know how to solve it ??

Hmm.. don't have this on my Windows 2K/P4/M-Audio Delta 44 system. More information would help, like what operating system, what soundcard, that sort of thing.
It sounds like somewhere the volume is cranked up too high and you're distorting the outputs, which kind of makes no sense to me...

well, yes i know it's quite strange, i can not explain it...
i have a laptop running under windowsXP, with a P4, 512 mega ram, and my soundcard is the one included in the m-audio ozone, processing at 16bit/44100Hz (it's the same as the "audiophile", i think, and it is usb2)
it doesn't make sens to me, because everything is working fine with other apps... !

Just checking - have you clicked on the little arrows next to the Wave Device box on the settings page to check if you have any better options available?sinkmusic wrote:hi

I get something similar sometimes. Also on a laptop with WinXP and M-Audio Ozone. Make sure you have Asio direct mode turned on in Tracktion. If you get it anyway, have you tried resetting the audiodevice (in the Tracktion settings page)? That usually solves the problem for me. Another thing to try might be to turn on the Ozone before you start the computer.

well this might be that...
i was testing the version 1,3 of Tracktion, which doesn't seem to have the "Asio direct mode"...
i will try with a new version...

interesting, i just thought to myself "glad this isnt happening to me"... But last night it actually did. I have a tascam us428 which I use as the midi interface for my echo mia line out... It suddenly was doing this distortion. So I reloaded tracktion with turning off the tascam, and it didnt have that sound. When I had first plugged in the USB cord after a computer operation, I guess it conflicted somehow. After restarting, no problems... whew! I'm.. So happy!
