What has all these features?

1.CD and DVD burning.(Wavelab 5)

2.Elasitc Audio (Very similar to Melodyne)

3.Little virtual drummer (Mini BFD)?

4.Surround Sound with and improved panner(Cubase SX3,Sonar 4,Nuendo, Samplitude)

5.Freeze (Tracktion,Sonar 4 e.t.c)

6.Remix agent for Live mixes (Similar to Live 4)

7.Full 24 bit support

8.Logic and Samplitude Audio engines...

Music Studio 2005 :D

Music maker 2005 deluxe seems to differ by not having a version of Logic but a nice version of the piano roll straight out of Samplitude 8, but it does not appear to have a freeze function.

So Music Studio seems a better bet.Prices should range bwtween £50 - £75 for Music Studio.Whatever is going to be in T2 it will be pretty good looking at the competition in Tracktions price bracket..I know Jules has it covered :D

This is all in German but the pictures give you an idea...oh I wouldn't worry about Ipace it seems to be totally different from PACE which seems to have a not so good reputation. :?

I have Music Studio 2004 and use it as an Audio editor it looks like Magix have other ideas...

If you speak German enjoy...if not enjoy the pictures.. :D

German only with pictures

I ran this webpage through freetranslator.com to get a better idea...

English Translation..not great but OK with pictures if a bit comical in places :D

It should ship by October ending for the rest of the EU. The current US 2005 version is identical to the current EU 2004 version and does not have have the key new features like DVD burning, Little Virtual drummer, elasitc audio e.t.c.

I was sucked in by Music Studio 2003 but it doesnt allow 24 bit recording. I think you will find it is the same for the next release. Other than that it is great value.

Music Studio 2005 does 24bit

"On push of a button and plays the "small Drummer" produces a complete impactthings-purely as basis for all other instruments - and inclusive BREAK, Fills and on desire with small human weaknesses!"

Sounds like a real drummer - completely impacts things, only a basis for other instruments, and small human weaknesses! :-o

Is music maker deluxe 2005 rly worth a buy? I tried

the 2004 demo and it felt like a my hands were tied

to my chair. The workflow was stiff. When I first

started to get interested into making music I was

crazy about this and about to get it.

But it still says nothing about inserts on the Midi Studio side ...

well not that I could see, and if you can't use insert effects and only a limited number of send effects in what would be my main arena (i.e. the Midi Studio) then it's just not worth it

If they implement Midi and VSTi's in the Audio Studio side, then great, but I can't see them doing that when Samplitude cost so much more for this ability

plus you cant use Groove Agent properly in Logic/Midi Studio cos it won't output midi from a plugin

anyway I thought you were a Trackion user!!!!

You can use up to 48 insert effects plus 2 master effects in midi STUDIO 2005.

As for audio STUDIO ... it's good for audio recording, mixing and - above all - mastering.

In addition you can get a long way working with loops and doing remixes. If you are into certain musical styles you can also take some advantage from the included instruments.

BTW - I'm a Tracktion user, too - most of the time

are you sure about the insert effects???? That's what they said about 2003 & 2004, but they actually meant send effects and the the 2 master effects, and I can't remember where they got the 48 figure either.

But if they really do mean insert effects, then great, it's a feature that has been lacking for far too long, ... but I'm just not sure

Are we planning on discussing every other host until Tracktion 2 comes out?

Post

woooops, I had forgotten this was the Tracktion forum!!!

Post

Let me clarify my previous post. Magix Music Studio 2005 will not allow 24 bit RECORDING. It does allow import and export of 24 bit wave files.

With regard to 24 bit recording and MMS2005, the magix forum moderator gave the following response back in June

'This is a professional feature for programs like our samplitude.'

Well no-one has mentioned Podium for a while.

...yes sounds promising indeed. perhaps I now will upgrade from my 2003 version. maybe.

but did you listen already to the elastic audio? I did. it sounds by no means like melodyne!

all other features just add-ons...no real changes. I am missing the vst support for the audio studio. samplitude has this since quite a while...but not that bundle.

and I am not interested at all in that given-up logic engine called midistudio.
