Anybody out there own a Roland JD-XA and put it to use as a MIDI controller? Not only is it a great sounding synth on its own, but it's also a great MIDI controller I've found.

I'm creating custom MIDI mappings for it for use with some popular virtual synthesizers. I'm almost done doing a full mapping for Hive :)

I'm also making some visual references to go along with it. Here's a sneak peak:'

Once I have it all done I'll make the mapping file and reference available for a free download on my website (though I wouldn't be opposed to donations). I'll also provide a .sysex file that can be put on the JD-XA to make the most use of it in Hive.

As you can see in the photo I have the sequencer buttons of the JD-XA mapped to the individual arpeggiator gates in Hive. Very very fun to play with 8)

Anyway I know this is a niche thing that very few people might be interested in, but since I'm doing it all for myself I figured I'd provide it for the world as well.

If anyone is interested in this let me know, and feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions as well. Cheers!

I've finished this mapping and now have it available for free on my website if anyone is interested!

If anyone has any suggestions for it, I'm all ears :)

I don't have a Mac to test it on, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. If anyone out there can't get it to work on a Mac, please let me know.

Cheers!
