As has been said, GUI is a matter of taste. Personally I think the Q lines are a nice visual indicator of your settings and a really good idea. But being able to turn them off seems like a good idea too.

As for other features, someone mentioned the harmonics already. I also like the LISTEN function, which I've only seen on other "spendy" EQs. It's an amazing EQ for the price!

I like it how it is. I use the handles all the time and they look fine to me. I'm not opposed to a setting that turns them off, but don't get rid of them.

I, too, would love to be able to collapse the "alphabet" panel, as for me it's a set-and-forget thing. 2x oversampling is my default, I only ever touch AGC and L-R on my compressors and EQ's once, if I use it, and the rest is features I don't use.

As for the controversial Meldaproduction GUI's overall, yes, I am sure that Vojtech and company would sell more of these amazing processors if each one had a slick GUI with fake shiny metal panels and fake rust and shadows on the knobs and a glowing 12AX7 or whatever, but as someone who has spent time in the development trenches, I think I know what he's up to, which is one of the most amazing examples of shared code I've probably ever witnessed.

Which, if I am correct, is why they pack so much power for so little money, why the free bundle mops the floor with so many other companies' pay offerings, etc.

The GUI's probably sacrifice eye candy so that they can be more modular under the hood. So an amazing new feature only needs to be coded once and boom, at the next revision it can be added to every plug-in in the entire line, including all the free ones. Is this right?

As for the "schoolyard" stuff, I'm a smartass too, and just because something is a joke doesn't mean it doesn't have a barb. We defend the things we love when we feel they are being attacked. The OP just wants the EQ he likes to be more useful.

I have to say, once I got used to the GUIs not having fake cigarette burns on brushed aluminum and whatnot, digging Meldaproduction plug-ins is starting to feel like I'm part of some secret club. I wait for the Eternal Madness announcement every week (just bought MAutoAlign and MAN, what it does to my drum tracks is heartbreaking), lurk on this forum....I'm ready to get the tattoo....

Keep in mind that Melda has more parameters than most other plugins on the market.

With the new nice beta 11.06 he already worked again a little bit gui, but more workflow wise: LP slope selector in MDynamicEq and MAutoDynamicEq (including MXXX) has been moved to the right for easier workflow.

I have an unregistered Free Bundle, MModernCompressor and MAutoAlign, and I feel like I could probably devote a not-so-badly spent month to getting really good at the less obvious features of MModernCompressor.

I only noticed that it had these things called "modulators" after I bought it, had only a vague idea what on a compressor one might wish to modulate, maybe threshold or ratio? Then I downloaded a preset from another user that used modulators on the threshold, started looking at what he was doing with them and....they're not just modulators in the sense I expected them to be, like you'd have a sine, square, triangle, and you could set the frequency, maybe sync it to the host at various fractions or multiples of the tempo, no, they can do all that, but they can also follow the input waveform's envelope and frequency and god knows what else, maybe phase, and then there are also these things called "multiparameters" that you can set up to do various things.

These are all parameters I wasn't even aware my compressor had before I bought it and may never have touched had it not been for this other user's preset. I feel like I could devote quite a bit of well-spent time to figuring out how to use these modulators and multiparameters, like days or weeks.

And that's just on one single fairly low-end compressor!

Those of you who have the TotalFXBundle, CompleteBundle, MXXX or the monthly subscription, I can't imagine how deep it all goes. Just upgrading the Free Bundle feels like opening the magic door.

I'm afraid that just won't happen at least for now. It's way too difficult in the automatized GUI engine and I don't have pretty much any development time for spare.
