R5's skin could use a bit more brightness and contrast, it's too grey/dull/boring tonally, for what the sound is doing. It looks like it's been sitting in an attic for a while, rather than brand spanking shiny new.

I like it grey. Could we have a 'blood mist' version like Repro Alpha? :clown:

Aaw I just noticed you removed that cute floppy disk for Save. Hehe I'm not complaining, it was fun while it lasted. :hihi: Making the Save button red works for me.
I guess the big phono jacks across the top have gone on Repro-1 as well. The wood paneling looks better when it is more like a border and not just on the left and right sides. :tu:
And I see the 3 folder tabs have been replaced by buttons. I kind of liked the tabs but this works too and is more in keeping with the style. :tu: Um...where is the 'Sequencer' tab/button?

Use the Gamma setting in the Preferences.

Is there some way to delete all tags in one go?

I often make patches from other patches and the results can be very different from the starting patch. In such cases I delete all tags and start again, which can be a laborious process.

Urs, with the new browser there is a easy way to navigate and change preset in remote using MIDI commands? Something like next/previous using MIDI? The only way for now is using the Midi programs folder. Thats could be fine when you have a "set" prepared for live use but not a solution when you are just auditioning preset, navigating and editing drom remote keyboards, etc...
I hope that has been taking in consideration when making the new browser!

That is independent of the new browser. The browser works on user input, which is fine to load files. MIDI however happens in a time critical manner, so neither file access nor memory allocation are allowed. We can probably figure something out where a MIDI control change triggers a fake user action, with a short delay to pass the info on from MIDI to UI. But that would still require the UI to be open, and it would indeed make sense to finish the browser first.

Thanks Urs. Even just Midi control of the previous/next arrows in the main window would be of great help for us working and playing away fom the computer

I'll take that as a no, then.

In which case I'll humbly suggest it be considered in the future. If it's too difficult or no one else would use it, fair dos.

We'll see. There's a plethora of things we could add, but we first need to start somewhere.

Fair enough.

Urs wrote:I don't like tagging in the save dialog, at least not in the current situation. As we're adding tags to more plug-ins, tagging will mainly be done in bulk. That is because no preset out there is tagged yet. For that it's better not to have to go through a dialog for each and every preset.
I agree that allowing for bulk tagging is the way to go, especially when you're dealing with trying to tag lots of existing presets. That said, I think tagging in the Save dialog helps encourage tagging and adoption of the tagging system on a going forward basis.

Example: I'm no sound designer, but maybe I create and save a few presets a week. I'm a bit lazy, but I still want to be able to find stuff later. If I'm not offered the option to tag at the time I save the preset, I may not remember/think to go back into the browser later on to do it. If it were part of the Save dialog, I'd just kill both birds with one stone and tag while I save, making it a one-step process. It definitely shouldn't be the only way to tag, and I totally agree that bulk tagging in the browser is going to be more efficient in some use-cases, but a combined tag+save window makes more sense in other use-cases IMO.

Let me just state for the record...I'm not advocating building that functionality right now and delaying the release further, but it'd be a nice to have.

Tagging in the save dialog is something that needs too much work right now. It would certainly delay any release by several months, due to the necessity to combine our tag data into a platform dialog (or vice versa, embed a platform dialog into our own UI).

I DEFINITELY don't want that.

What about making the tags photorealistic? I think that would add to the authenticity of the product, no? I'd totally wait for that!

Prepare now for the coming of text search - in the save dialog patch description just type a word or two (sexy, hotpants, ponylicious) to describe your patch. When we get text search just search your desired word and bingo! Who needs tags?
