EQ bands: distinct between (non-)resonant filters

Hi!
Currently the buttons for resonant and non-resonant HP and LP filters show the same image. Please have a look at the atteched image for a draft to make them different.
Masi
PS: I find it odd that LP filters are to the left just because they are below the low shelf filters. That's really counter-intuitive.

Didn't they used to have "resonant" in their label before?
Anyway, +1 to both suggestions

I think you confuse it with the (non)resonant shelves in the dynamic eqs
. Here it's the 6dB/oct vs. 12dB/oct LP/HP, they just work a bit different and have been added later, so backwards compatibility thing...

Nope. The 12dB one with slope 1 has a Q setting and is resonant. The other one with 6dB has no Q setting and isn't resonant.
And I'm taling about the freebie MEqualizer. MDynamicEq OTOH has no non-resonant LP/HP in the band settings.
Anyway, now that you mention of course I want different icons for non-/resonant shelves as well

PS: I have no idea how to visuall distinct between Peak and Analog Peak and type A/B of the band shelves.

Indeed, they are different. But set the Q to 0.5 and they are the same.

I could argue the case for dropping the "non-resonant"one, and using Q=0.5 as the factory setting.

Besides the fact that the non-resonant filter starts at 6dB.DarkStar wrote:Indeed, they are different. But set the Q to 0.5 and they are the same.
But yes, that's my issue. With the icon being the same I have to try to find the right one. At least add the word "resonant" next to the dB value as it is done in the other EQs.
Vojtech said something about compatibility, so dropping probably isn't an option for v11.x.

I'd really rather avoid making more icons...
Way too many more imporant things to do... Moreover the resonance is actually nothing too awesome, it's a sideeffect actually...
