I’ve been playing with the comb filters in MPS and they’re great for creating string-ish sounds with white noise. The only problem is they don’t follow the notes perfectly, so they are out of tune after you move a few octaves. Is there anyway to fix this or could you add filters similar to Bcomb that keytrack in tune?

Hmmm, what do you mean they are out of tune? Could you send me settings I can try?

For example something like this. Its just white noise BComb1 with the character turned up. Middle C is fine, but if you play the higher Cs it gets more and more out of tune.
All of the combfilters seem to do this. It seems to be a problem with the keytracking and perhaps the scaling. As you move up the keyboard it seems to get gradually more and more out of tune. Perhaps it could be fixed by adding a tuning file.

I toyed around a bit with your preset out of curiosity and found it more pleasant to drop the Frequency Range by one octave (-1). This extends the range of usable notes to closer to three octaves. Still, once the frequencies of the upper harmonics get closer together, the notes become more and more out of tune. I think that the key would be to select a number of harmonics used to define the notes and get them to shift absolutely. (But even doing so you would only be able to play in a single key.)
Keytracking would help UNTIL you introduced a second note that wasn't an octave. Perhaps using MXXX and cloning your preset for each note and tuning that preset?
On a sidenote, I couldn't replicate the built in filter using Comb in the FX section, but I have almost never used the Comb before anyway, so I'm sure there is plenty that I am missing.

Aaaaaah, I know, why didn't I think about it... Basically a comb filter is a delay with a feedback. But as such it is limited to full samples. While the plugin actually also interpolates between them, providing theoretically infinite resolution, it just doesn't work well enough... it would probably require higher sampling rate. If you try upsampling, you'll notice that it will start to work. But you know the CPU problem is obvious
. I'm afraid I don't see a reasonable solution.

Thanks for the info. I tried it and it works. I understand it can't be changed in MPS. The only thing I'd ask that in MYYY there be a combfilter that is oversampled internally, so that it stays in tune. At 8x-10x oversampling it sounds good and the CPU usage isn't too bad. The problem is when I add a reverb in the FX section the CPU usages blows up. Perhaps in MYYY if a new combfilter is oversampled internally new interesting sound could be made.

Well, no promises, but I'll try to keep that in mind
.
