So, thinking of getting Karacter plus 2 of the $29 plugins. Which two do you guys recommend?

Those are all good imho, depends if you're trying to collect the full
channel strip or not. IIRC, the compressor and filter don't go on
sale too often. Took me a while to get the comp, definitely.

There doesn´t seem to be any direct formula or logic - basicly it should be according the amount of purchases you have made PA plugins, i.e. money you have brought in, but this is not the case in practice, according to what people have reported. Maybe its same kind of logic how good girls, sitting in the front row, back in schooldays, got better numbers than more clever but bad boys sitting at the back of the classroom.

I have no intention to collect the channel strip. That's nice to know, though. I'm still new to PA's higher priced plugs.

I noticed that the GRM Tools stuff is still on sale. Am I correctly understanding that they still require a USB dongle? That's too bad, if so. I am fine with iLok. I have MANY plugs authorized on my computer that way but, I have no desire to buy a dongle just to run a handful of plugins

I like it, and I'm not a huge fan of channel strips. The inclusion
of the preamp is pretty unique I think, and handy when you need to add
a lot of gain to a vocal recording or something, supposedly up to 65db.

The Comp is not my favorite FET emulation (doesn't mean its not good),
but the strip as a whole is well thought out and convenient. Considering
how cheap you can get it, I do think its worth it.

I was saving my voucher for Karacter too, but when I finally got around to demoing it, I wasn't really blown away by it. Just another saturation/distortion plugin, albeit M/S, but I've got a thousand and one saturation/distortion plugins. I've no doubt it's amazing and I'm the one at fault, but it didn't float my boat as much as I hoped it would.

The Lindell compressor looks like my likely target but even then, I can't say I'm that excited (but hey it's only $4 so I'm not complaining).

yeah I do not like that lindell fet comp so that's a no go. Oh well I got karacater and nseq. I know I don't need cleansweep pro but It's calling me. Character isn't bad. It's much more versatile than like aphex aural exciter. Demo and see
