Does anyone have any insight on how often Vienna Symphonic Library puts their stuff on sale? I'm pretty much sold on VEP and I'm trying to determine when the best time to buy would be? Any insight on whether VEP 7 is on the horizon?

They seem to have been on sale most of this year, but only in sections. I would probably wait until the holidays and see if they do the same as last year and sell vouchers at buy 3 get one free or something like that. Then spend the vouchers on the sales stuff.ghettosynth wrote:Does anyone have any insight on how often Vienna Symphonic Library puts their stuff on sale? Why does the pre-ordering end November 12, if the product doesn't ship before February 15

VEP 6 is a relatively recent product. I don't foresee VEP 7 for at least a year or two. VSL are currently knees deep in developing their Synchron series and a new player for said series, so I would be very surprised if VEP 7 was released anytime soon.ghettosynth wrote:Does anyone have any insight on how often Vienna Symphonic Library puts their stuff on sale? Is that meant sarcastic eventually? Where is the guarantee that you'l get it by that time?: Dennis is an one man company. Imo it would be better/safer for all customers when he first finish a product and then starts an intro-sale and for pre-order a month should be fair for both sides. Also like Num pointed out pre-order ends in November and the promised release date is in February? The price reduction is also insane. Not very tempting.mgw38 wrote:Developers, take notice! No sarcasm, actually. I meant that. I do not mind waiting a bit if the developer is reasonably trustworthy and the product is appropriately discounted. I do get your point that February might a bit too far out though.

Thanks for the responses, I'll look out for a Black Friday sale then. It should be here before my demo runs out
Yeah, I'd seen them, but, I hadn't paid much attention. I'm not really interested much in their orchestral stuff though TBH, not that I have an opinion on it mind you, I just don't need orchestral libraries.dzilizzi wrote:They seem to have been on sale most of this year, but only in sections. Ok, good to know. I don't mind the process of paying for upgrades when I get good value, but, if the next version was on the immediate horizon then I could probably wait for it.LGK_Dude wrote:VEP 6 is a relatively recent product. I don't agree. I like the tack that Embertone took recently with Joshua Bell Violin. They released it and gave initial buyers 10% off or so ($20 savings). For those who jump in immediately, they save a few bucks; that's cool. For those who want to take time to let the dust settle on a product, or who don't have the cash ready, buying after the introductory period isn't a slap in the face.mgw38 wrote:Developers, take notice! There are products that have been recently released (Berlin's Inspire comes to mind) that had steeper discounts, but I've been turned off from buying them now -- after the intro promo period -- because I think "well, I could have got it for much less then, but now it's way more expensive... so why bother. Move along."
I'm speaking from the perspective as a hobbiest. If I were to make serious money with a particular library, then I probably wouldn't bat an eye at paying full price for any product... if I needed that tool NOW.
I have to think that deeply discounting such products at the outset really communicates that the developer thinks that the product is worth what they are selling it for at that discount (in this example, $39.99), and the $199.99 is a joke.

I'm purely speculating here but it seems that this is the developer's first Kontakt Player library. It could simply be a strategy to fund the licensing fees ahead of the launch.Mucusman wrote:I have to think that deeply discounting such products at the outset really communicates that the developer thinks that the product is worth what they are selling it for at that discount (in this example, $39.99), and the $199.99 is a joke.

I just wanted to give an update on the BigKick topic. To PluginBoutique's credit, they did me right. They honored the coupon and fixed it on their website so it would finally go through properly. I purchased it today for $24.50, which is what I think it's worth. Have thought for a while now that was my max I'd pay for it, so it was nice to finally pick it up. And I wanted to give credit where credit is due when a vendor does right by me as a customer. Thank you PB. Well done!Rational wrote:I just noticed that Pluginboutique has BigKick on sale for $49 right now. So I applied my two tokens towards a 50% off coupon. Which should bring it down to $25 or so. Sadly their cart isn't allowing it. Yet it is advertised currently at that price with no stipulation the code can't be used. I've emailed them. I'll share the outcome. But you might want to try and grab it now in case they change policy after. You might be grandfathered in prior. FYI.
Edit: And one more thing of note. The AAS bundle here: http://vstbuzz.com/deals/50-off-session ... acoustics/ Will likely allow you to update to their Modeling Collection bundle for $99 during an upcoming sale such as Black Friday. It's a good deal for a hundred bucks and he's offered it twice so far this year. So grab it next go round.
https://www.applied-acoustics.com/modeling-collection/
https://www.applied-acoustics.com/model ... ction/#buy
* $99 when on sale for users with 3 or more products already owned. Like the session bundle at VSTBuzz right now.
Now I'm curious if anyone else grabbed it? Or if perhaps they've removed it as an offer under the 'my rewards' for now while it's already on sale? For me, once I used my two token 50% off coupon, the offer is no longer listed in my rewards area. So I can't tell if they removed it for everyone because of me, or if since I claimed it, it no longer shows as it has been used. So it might still be on offer. Not sure.
Another update: I confirmed I'm finally going to get $50 off coupons from Plugin-Alliance going forward. It seems that I've finally spent $600 with them and now rate the $50 off level. So for everyone who was wondering, $600 seems to be the 'total spend' as they call it to rate $50 off coupons monthly. FYI.

I tried that with bigkick before on plugin boutique and they told me I couldn't use the 50% off coupon when it was on sale before. You must of got lucky or I didn't make enough noise. Oh well I stopped buying from there mostly anyhow as there are always cheaper prices elsewhere and you get cash instead of creditRational wrote:

Congrats on the $50 I should be at that level soon. How did you figure it out that it was $50 at $600? Did you have to email them? Does that include vouchers or $600 actual cash spent? I gotta add up all the cash I've spent.
Btw that AAS upgrade says its for professional version not sessions. So I don't think it will work with the vstbuzz bundle. Session users only get $99 off the $499. Unless you're seeing something I'm not. Thanks for the info though.

Yeah, I tried it before too and was told the same thing. Then they removed bigkick from the rewards offer at the time while it was on sale. This time they didn't, so I considered that a valid offer. Good companies honor sales mistakes if they forgot to notate properly and in this case they did. So in my book they are an honorable company. But yeah, I had to email them. And yeah, these days I'm finding others more competitive most times as well. Their loss for not offering more sales. And the others' gain for being competitive. I love the free market.
Yes, I had to email (support ticket) PA to determine that. They told me I was under by about $50 a month or so ago. I consider that I've done pretty well as I own probably 80%+ of their catalog at this point and am still just hitting $600 now. So that's pretty good. Most things I've gotten at very low prices. Which is why I love PA. They sell high quality stuff with high quality service but aren't ridiculous about their pricing. They know these are only plugins. They're not hardware units. They understand ones and zeros scale well once created and understand the time value of money. Others don't quite yet. And lose out on lots of revenue because of it. Their loss. Good on PA.
As for AAS, I'll check my account. Not sure why I'm qualifying actually. I don't have any pro licenses. Again, I still suggest everyone email them and ask. You might be surprised.

25 days till Black Friday.
Some Sellers jump that gun so the buying season can start earlier.
Make your purchase list and check it twice to make sure you do not miss any deals.
I was going to join GAS Anonymous but BF being so close it does not make sense to do it now especially when 2018 looks more appropriate for making such decisions. And I will have the the whole year to sign up.
Funny, the more I save the more I spend.
