Major Install Disaster

Short and to the point.

Owner of MPowersynth and MUnison. Today, purchased MTurboReverb to take advantage of the sale.

Downloaded Version 11.07 for Windows (32/64-bit) as I figured the one I had (Version 10) wasn't going to include MTurboReverb.

Installed it and chose all plugins and nothing installed and everything I did have including MPowersynth and MUnison, which I paid for, is gone.

What do I do?

I am on Windows 7 64 bit.

I went back to version 10 and it did install MTurboReverb and everything else so we're good. But there is definitely a problem with the Version 11 installer.

Probably related to the 'clean up' section of the V11 install. If i've got my versions correct, v11 was the one that had the automation and plugin rewrite, where a bunch of plugins names where changed (not the ones you've purchased) and so a 'clean up' phase was added to the installer that should clean up the old ones so when the new ones are installed everything correctly links up and you can open old projects.

The cleanup phase is OPTIONAL by the way, you only need to run it the one time, when making the jump from 10 to 11.

Also, check that v11 is installing to the correct location, if the above isn't the issue, perhaps it's throwing them in the wrong place? Just a thought.

I checked the path and I didn't use the cleanup option. The paths were correct. Nothing was installed anywhere and everything was removed.

As I said, going back to version 10 fixed everything.

I think vectorwarrior is very correct. Try downloading the newest installer, running it, make sure you perform the plugin cleanup (ideally full system cleanup, 'cos I have a feeling we may find things in various places here) and choose everything to install. Next let your host perform a full rescan of the plugins if needed and make sure the plugins are actually in correct places (if your host doesn't support VST3). If that won't help, contact me via info@meldaproduction.com and tell me exactly which host are you using and we'll take it from there. Anyways I'm pretty sure we'll make things working, there's definitely no major problem in V11.

Thanks but guess you missed the part where I went back to version 10 and everything installed fine, which I find strange as version 10 didn't have MTurboReverb listed (version 11 listed it as new) and yet it installed regardless. And I did do a PC scan and everything was gone. It was nowhere. Not even the plugins that were installed previously. It was as if the installer removed everything and stopped at that point. And when I ran version 10, the paths were identical to the ones in version 11 (I'm assuming the software remembers these from some settings somewhere) and running version 10, everything was fine. So there is no question, at least on my system, that the latest version 11 doesn't work. I mean I could go through the whole process yet again just to prove it but I don't want to go through the hassle of having to then go back to version 10 just to get things working again.

Anyway, no need to go back to 11 and try again as everything is up and running.

I'm closing out this thread.

That's certainly your option. Anyways if you'd like to try in the future, just let me know via info@meldaproduction.com and we'll figure it out.
