Hi
The free Gain VST is a real life saver for Cubendo users. Its group feature allows for poor man's VCA grouping with MIDI control.
Would it be possible to add more groups and change the resolution of incoming MIDI?
At the moment when using MIDI to control the GainVST fader it reacts to 127 MIDI steps, and it's a little jerky.
More groups would be..well more groups :)

It's a great little, golden plugin!. Thank you Blue CAT :)

Hi,

We are happy that you like it. A new version is currently in work, and it should have 9 groups instead of 4.

The resolution cannot be increased without using different MIDI control types (typically NRPN instead of CC), but it's not as convenient to setup.

BUT you can already improve the resolution by reducing the range. You usually do not need the full -60/+60 dB range, do you? If you don't, go to the Preset Settings and reduce the range for the gain parameter. This way the 127 MIDI controller values will map to a smaller range of gain values, increasing the presicion of the controller.

Hope this helps!

Great News!! And thank you for the suggestion for the range.

This is my go-to sidechain plugin!

Since updated my DAW from Renoise 3.1.0 (32bit) to Renoise 3.1.1 (64bit) the 'grouping' does not work anymore

I had the previous version (32bit) so I installed the newest BC (64bit) product, but still no luck
I switched back to 3.1.0 because I need my BC Gain !
It worked for 2 weeks but suddenly: It doesn't work in 3.1.0 anymore

I reinstalled a 32bit version, and it works in 3.1.0 again.. I guess it is a 32-64bit thing
Keeping my fingers crossed!

It is probably an issue with Renoise's 32/64-bit bridge. I guess it is using the bridged 32-bit version instead of the 64-bit version, so the plug-ins are loaded in a separate process (and they cannot communicate with each other). So maybe try to uninstall the 32-bit version and keep only the 64-bit version, or make sure you deactivate the bridge for the plug-in (if renoise allows this).
