€10 for a stylophone Kontakt lib, I am tempted, but is worth it?

I am seriously considering ending my TrackSpark subscription, I thought last month was meager, but this is even bleaker, we get a small Mode Audio sampler and a cut-down sample pack from Monumental Audio, with a chance to buy the full version at half price :(

As I understand Re-Strings is equivalent to Virtual String Machines and R-Tron is M-Tron Pro. So getting those two plus the new Re-Chamber for $75 seems an excellent deal for Reason users

Bought it... like it, basically a variation on the FloppyTron, or the other way
around I guess. A nice lo-fi synth sound wrapped in sampleso's excellent
Kontakt engine.

Certainly worth a ten spot IMHO. Although, apparently you can get an actual
stylophone for not much more than that.

it's not great - but I assume you're grandfathered in and paying the $2.99 price too, so hard not to give them a few passes,

hi
i'm currently trying to buy nuendo , but it's soooo expensive
to i tried a used version , and thing is , you don't find nothing.
i didnt' even searched on ebay , because i think there are a lot of scams , so don't wanna end up with a hacked version .

so where can i find the last version , the 8th version of nuendo , used , without been scammed ?
if it's impossible , then i'll take out a loan for it..

The CM backissue deal sounds interesting, but it's only really the reviews that'd interest me and they are posted for free on musicradar.com - are there really many vault downloads that you'd get via those backissues that aren't included in the vault archive that you get access to by just buying the latest mag?
There's a number of products you will get that aren't in the CM current archive. There are a few, however, that only were available for the short time of the magazine. So you won't get all of them. Plus there are loops every month that are different. Not sure how much use they are.

Nuendo pops up here once in a while, but usually as an older version and then still quite expensive. If it is sold second hand, the license needs to be physically shipped on an eLicenser. And that generally rules out that you end up with a hacked version.

But it adds up, and I can't remember any very good freebies this year, there was EupeterXL, but that was buggy

I give them one more chance, and if they deliver another fail I am out.

You can always upgrade any previous version you buy second hand to version 8.

I wouldn't blame anyone who did. All I care about are plugins and samples. Discounts are nice, but to take me from I've-never-heard-of-you to now-I'm-your-customer in one click takes more than 30% off (for me). Tutorials and stems are not what I want. I'm not planning to jump ship, though, because hope springs eternal.

What I DON'T get - given that a freebee provides my email to software/soundware devs - is why developers aren't lining up at Trackspark's door. I mean, Rhythmic Robot just had a sale where I grabbed three different instruments for £1 each. Surely a company like theirs would stand to benefit (assuming they haven't already in a month before I was a subscriber)? Several soundware devs have recently bundled samplepacks together for as low as a dollar. Why isn't TrackSpark inundated with companies that want to reach a wider audience? It seems like such a potential win-win-win (the devs-TrackSpark-customers). One could argue that ultimately there aren't that many TrackSpark subscribers, but that shouldn't matter to devs, because the ratio of products they give out to the number of new emails they get is 1:1. Just my thoughts, YMMV.

All UDEMY courses are on sale for $10 right now. Here's the link for the music-related ones:

https://www.udemy.com/courses/music/all-courses/

I haven't trawled through to see if there's anything that interests me, but there's lot of stuff on using various DAWS, music theory, production, etc.
Some courses that I've really enjoyed recently on Udemy are the Song Science series of courses from Musicians Inspired (used to be RW Studio, I think). They cover songwriting, especially the chords.

The first in the series covers the real basics of chords in major keys/what the chord for each scale degree typically sounds like and is used for/cadencing etc. If you're already taking your chords from within keys and not just randomly jamming chords into sequences you will probably find it a bit slow.

The second one, however ('The Complete Songwriting Chord Guide') has been really enjoyable and has come at just the right time for me - it covers a lot of more advanced chord types and techniques like diminished chords, slash chords, pedal points, secondary dominants etc and it has a whole section on modes and modal interchange/borrowing chords from other modes than the one you're writing in.

What I like about the whole series of videos is that he plays a lot of examples from songs that use the techniques, and he discusses how the techniques are most commonly used - for example, which chords are most commonly borrowed from the various modes and the other chords that most commonly precede and follow them.

The descriptions of the course are a bit clickbait-y, but the content is better than that.

It's really expanded the possibilities that I have when I'm writing chords for songs, so definitely worth a tenner :tu:

Good point.

I have been a sub from day one (Nov 2015). This month it is their 2 years anniversary, so doubly sad that they serve up such a meager celebration.

Two years ago we got Valve Filter VF-1, that is still the best plugin they have offered IMO.

And BTW the original deal was:
From Dec 1st [2015], Track Spark will provide a monthly digital goody bag of loops, a plugin, sample packs, tutorials & more
Where is my plugin this month?
