CM101 and StepChild

I was just bughunting / testing / tidying up loose ends on StepJUCECrossPlatypusChildForm (or whatever it's called)

I've been using CM101 for testing. I got real f**ked up output when I had a note on the very first step. SHIT! major debug ahead I thought.
Anyway. I started hunting another (gui) bug which led me to firing up StepChild(original) to check some behaviour. To my surprise the original also balls up when a note is on first step! Partial delight
Hmmm. Switched the synth to ImpOscar and both steppies work fine!

Is this a known problem with CM-101? Or CM-101 with StepChild
