Here's where the magic happens:

You can drag any of the Favourites folders (or search results) into any of the normal preset folders and it'll make a "real" folder with duplicates of all those presets. Easy backup & organize!

Folders, MIDI Programs, the default.h2p preset, "reveal in Finder" etc. are all still there. The Search interface, tagging etc. are built on top of that.

While the new browser is certainly a substantial improvement, it's not a complete change. It doesn't even deploy every feature known to man. You can ignore most of it and just keep doing as you did, but once you type something into the search bar and press enter, you know what you've been missing all those years.
That is great news, thanks! I'm sure it will be stellar...tagging and search is great! I don't think I could even use Omnisphere without it :) But, I really like how easy it is to copy my presets and folders from my studio machine to my laptop with no muss no fuss, so I'm glad that's staying. That is something many of the other guys should take a lesson from you on!

I have to say there was a time it was hard to get support from Arturia, but I think that has changed and at least the issues I had reported have been fixed. And they gave me a plugin for free because it took very long (of course until a bug is fixed can take long with other developers too). I can only recommend to get in touch with them, so they can fix this. Maybe they don't even know about it. Also you can get in touch with the devs of GigPerformer, so they can analyze why these plugins are not working right in their host. Maybe GigPerformer can improve overall plugin compatibility with your help. Not saying that it's GigPerformers fault, but I know about a open source DAW that needed several rewrites on the VST host code until "everything" was fine.

Nobody can predict if a major change or a minor change or a bug might result in problems with GigPerformer. But if that would happen, pretty sure u-he will be happy to fix it.
Yes, thanks...I agree with you. I think it likely is GigPerformer's interaction with the Arturia plugs, as they don't behave that way in any of my DAWs, whether VST or Audiounit. I'm sure they are working on it, as I've seen others bring up some issues with them as well. I generally like the Arturia stuff, especially v5 seems to be much more unified and consistent compared to earlier versions. I just have a patch with 1 jupiter 8 and 1 prophet 5 and I get some flakey behavior and the CPU is up around 18% when I'm NOT playing anything, whereas I have another patch with 7 instances of Zebra2, it recalls perfectly and the CPU with all of them is around 2% idle and 20% playing them all, so I wanted to give credit where it was due! :)

Ah, ok. Arturia VOX Continental had (or has, dunno) a similar problem with its optional reverb effect (possibly a denormal problem, related to the computation of very small values on some CPUs). Hence, it could be that the optional reverb effect of Jupiter has this problem too. Just an idea. If the problem is only related to some patches, then there is a good chance that the problem is only related to a buggy optional effect that you can avoid in future, so you can still continue to work with the plugin while filing a bug report.

Ah, yes...makes sense. Thanks for the info, I'll look into it, though I generally remove the built-in effects on sounds I make, but may have overlooked something.

Thanks, but I do not quite understand that yet ..

So I can also backup all Preset.h2p files including the respective new favorite color via Windows Explorer, for example? Are the old Preset.h2p files compatible with the new Preset Browser or are the updated plugins able to convert them?

Old h2p files work just fine in the new browser. No conversion at all necessary.

No change in preset format at all...

Focus on Repro-5 for public beta as soon as possible. Some bugs left in Zebra which we hope to address next week then. Depends on how things go.

This has nothing to do with Windows Explorer. Within the new browser you can drag any "smart folder" (for instance the results of a search or one of the Favourites folders) onto any REAL preset folder. E.g. dragging "Favourites 1" onto "User" will create a new folder containing copies of those favourites.

Compatible.
