50% off seems like a lot coming from Ableton, I don't seem to recall it ever
being that good. I'm pretty sure I would have bitten on the suite upgrade at that price.

Suppose I could have missed it, but I'm usually pretty good at striving to save a buck.

Or Christmas sale won't come because it is politically incorrect in Germany :hihi:

It seems Studio one 3 Pro + Bitwig 2 is better option for the same price. :?

Man, i just bought live 9 standard in July. I would be all on this upgrade if i wasn't broke as a joke.

The capture feature is something I've been wanting since back in the Atari days. I don't know how many times I've missed a very cool phrase when just noodling around on the keyboard.

Happy days

Well, then save quickly or borrow the money, because there's no better deal than upgrading 9 Standard to Suite now to receive 10 Suite for free when it's out. It seems only slightly less expensive than what I had to pay for 9 Suite -> 10 Suite, but you get all the extra 9 Suite stuff now.

Yesterday JRR Shop was showing a good deal on the 9 Standard to Suite upgrade. Can't remember the exact price but it was cheaper than the Ableton shop with a discount showing. Today - no discount and showing $271.

Doh!

What exactly is the PDC issue with M4L? I never really used M4L, but i remember that once someone wrote that Live uses the overall buffer latency to compensate for M4L devices. Is this correct?

I contacted the Ableton support and they answered the following:

"There has been no change to the way the delay compensation is handled in Live, between the current version of Live 9 and Live 10. Built in device modulation synced to the Live transport is not compensated:
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... ompensated"

This leads me to the conclusion that even if they changed the compensation for M4L devices, there will still be issues with device modulation synced to the Lives transport for all kind of devices (native, 3rd party, M4L). So they had 4 years to fix this issue but nothing really happened, sad story.

What is the direct download link for the beta? Do we have to have a previous version?

Post

The biggest sale I have seen at Ableton was 33% a few years back.

I'm pretty surprised there's no buzz around (finally!) getting a proper high-DPI screens on Windows?! On a small, high-res screen like Surface Pro 4 or a laptop, Live 9 was a mess because you basically had to choose between:

Sharp UI, with small plug-ins...

...or properly sized plugins, but blurry UI:

(click the pictures and compare full screen)

This is actually one of the biggest improvements for me in Live 10, easily worth $100 alone, as it hugely improves the comfort of the work.

direct link on the codecenter forum (windows only as of now)

and you probably need a previous version license to get export and save.

There is a mac version on the centercode site, someone uploaded only the windows version to an external server.

Interesting, do you feel like all the extra stuff in suite is worth it? When i initially looked at what it offered i felt that i could cover most of it with my own plugins.
