When v9 came out there was a discount for previous M4L buyers, like myself. It was about £25 iirc. But ... that was 5 years ago (almost).

honestly, unless they've changed policy, owning individual add-ons should increase discount. it's been ages since I upgraded last, but I'm pretty sure that's how it used to be.

if they disregard the fact you own M4L + Sampler, and are offering you the same Suite 10 upgrade price as someone with just a Standard license ..... just go and sell your M4L and Sampler licenses individually here on the market place and at the ableton marketplace, and then upgrade to Suite 10 ... there's always someone with Standard who isn't interested in the suite, and just wants some particular addons.

I suspect this is something that you won’t get if you don’t ask. Maybe it’s still worth it if they refuse, I just want all the variables when I make a decision.

IME, ableton tends to relent if you bitch at them about reasonable stuff.

I pre-ordered. That's £183 for at least 3 years of updates and i just got Push 2, so I'm committed.
It's still a cheap hobby.

I have live standard and the upgrade to suite get 10 free is 229e iirc. Not cheap but standard to standard is 179e. Have to say, it's pretty tempting in my case as I don't own much synths. Massive fm8 only. Will check the beta thoroughly before deciding to upgrade or not.

Think I picked up suite at v9.4 for around £360 and they added a good deal of content on the updates for nothing since. Personally, I think if this gets another 7 updates and lasts another 5 years, that's a pretty good deal so I'm pretty cool with the price (although I dare say Uncle E might be able to knock a few more dollars off the asking price).

199 euro for Suite upgrade is as low as I could've expected for new version.

Keep in mind that in the meantime we got huge 9.5 upgrade just for free. It's not like Ableton asks us to pay just for basic bug fixes.

Not all but that isn't my point as you will pay full when Logic 11 comes out so the statement is simply not true. Fact is there is only one DAW in the world with free lifetime upgrades and that is outstanding.
