I have been a faithful user of my Mackie HDR digital multitrack recorder for 17 years now in my commercial recording studio. It has been a very reliable machine, and I have literally thousands of HDR projects saved on hard drives.
I have always appreciated that there has been a Mackie HDR .prj file import option among the import choices in Tracktion (since version 3) and now in Waveform. I want to THANK Tracktion Corp. for continuing to include this feature.
It is well known for people who use this .prj file import feature that Tracktion/Waveform does a great job of including all track, file and region names, including the virtual tracks. However, it has been the case, an well known as well, that Tracktion/waveform doesn't re-create the fade-in, fade-out, or crossfade aspects of the original HDR project files.
The original options for fades within the HDR software was three choices: fast curve, slow curve, or linear fade. In the case of crossfades, you could chose which of the three choices you wanted for either side of the cross fade.
My Waveform FEATURE REQUEST would be to ask the developers to refine this import feature to it's satisfactory completion with fade information included and implemented. I bet it would bring a lot of happy HDR turned Waveform users into the fold. Maybe the coding wouldn't be so hard to do?
THANK YOU for your consideration, Tracktion Developers -
