You've created a Modular module that has no band splitter so how about a band splitter on its own, so we don't have to load a sub MXXX within MXXX.
There is, its called "crossover"
:dog:

I was looking under the Utilities

:D

Though the only way to limit the bandwidth is to disable the first and last bands and then use a couple of crossovers to create one and then adjusting the others,is that correct?

Also I thought if I add 2 crossovers with 6 outputs and 2 crossovers with 6 inputs I thought could connect the 2.

However, when experimenting with one crossover with 6 outs and 1 crossover with 6 ins the first module with 6 outs will only connect 1 line to the module with the 6 ins.

Is it not possible?

Post

So the crossover with 6 ins isnt the way to do it. If your trying to mix 6 to 1 use the mixer. Then you can send it to a second crossover if you need it.

For more than 6 bands i will tell you how i do it, maybe you will like it that way?
So for example use a crossover to split the signal into 6 bands under each of the outputs place a moldule.
Now inside each module use another crossover with 6 bands again. You now have 36 bands!
So let's just say that the first band was 20hz to 100hz
Now inside the module underneath, the crossover should have all of its crossover values between 20-100hz
Don't worry about the top and bottom band it doesn't matter.
If band 6 is to be 80-100hz just set the crossover to 80hz.
I know it will reach all the way up to 20,000hz but the first crossover already filtered those frequencies out anyway so there is nothing there anyway.

Here you go, I made a simple 24 band setup in MXXX. The crossovers are evenly distributed.
I have also included a multiparameter to control the slope of all crossovers at once.
Hope it helps.

Thanks jmg8 for taking the time.
Sadly that just makes my computer useless and stuttery!

I guess Ill have to do the band splitting in my host and route to several loaded MXXX plugins as I have no problem loading multiple MXXX with multiband presets inside the Multiband FX in Bigwig

As far as I've seen you can add an instance of Neutron or their mixbus plugin (which is basically a very basic MUtility) on each channel you want to see in the Tonal Balance plugin.
In the master you insert then the Tonal Balance. Then you can see and adjust for each channel it's tonal balance in only one plugin.
In addition you can adjust the equalizer for each channel that has the Neutron plugin inserted. See it as a remote control for your channels.

They say the've done a lot of research of "good" and "bad" audio material which they show you as reference for you tonal/spectral balance.
So it makes it easier to identify potential frequencies that are making your mix muddy, unbalanced or in short "worse".

You could think about it of MMultiAnalyzer with added recommendations for each track telling you in 4 frequency bands for each track which frequencies are too loud or not loud enough...

The visual mixer is also a nice idea. Although I wish to get a third dimension that lets me also place my signal not only "left/right" or "loud/silent" but also "near/far" - which would let us place signals in the room.
Idealy spatial, means in "real 3D" (behind your ears / in front of your ears)...

iZotope's new baby is no magic, it's just a helper to get your mixes sound better. That's what they promise and that's what could be achieved.
Not less, not more. And you still need good ears ;)

On the other side, I'm hearing since V6 of the "mixing revolution by Melda". But we didn't see more than promises so far (beside the other great plugins you develop and who I love ;) ).
iZotope gave us some mixing improvements in the meanwhile...

Hehe thanks! And yeah, I need to work on that, but people keep me really busy with neverending feature requests. Anyways the thing is, the plugins being released are actually part of the technology development needed for it. Now all I need is the little kernel restructuralization and hopefully it will finally be time for this mixing thing. But it will take hell of a time probably to make it "finished" (assuming it will even go according to the plan :D).
