Not for me it isn't
Could you elaborate as to why? Pretty sure that's more important than simple "no" :)
You only need to read my post above that one to see why

Very stable on my laptop, win 10, and CPU efficient concerning M4L. Works like a charm.

Windows version is quite usable for me so far though I haven't done a lot of recording yet.

Max's sluggishness seems to be largely a thing of the past.

Love the grouping and collections. Love the new metronome options. Love that the main menus are now a bit larger. I haven't seen anyone mention the multiple plug-in window settings yet. You can now choose to allow only one, or more than one.

Another thing I've noticed is that the play/stop/record buttons no longer have a background or border. They're a bit larger, but the color remains the same. With certain color schemes they become much harder to see.

As far as "themes" are concerned, the controls are the same as the "skins" implementation, just producing different results because of a different color scheme. Why they don't just allow you to change the colors in the same fashion as they facilitate key assignments or MIDI key assignments is beyond me. So simple and it would make so many people happy.

As to the font, it perhaps gives a classier overall look but seems a bit harder to read. Maybe it's just my eyes, or habit, or expectation based on prior experience. Maybe I'm not astute enough to tell the difference, but it seems to be to just be a standard version of the bold-ed font they were using. So why not just a "bold" option?

As to the overall look, it somehow seems a bit more "Reason-like". That's a very vague impression. I definitely find it more appealing on a gut/subjective shape consciousness level, but maybe not as quick for the eye because the contrast between the font and the background isn't as great.

It's a new typeface. I don't think it's particularly good, it has some pretty dreadful kerning issues and somehow just doesn't quite gel with a sleek software UI. There's also both vertical (tails of y's and g's) and horizontal alignment (track numbers) issues with many text elements which aren't present in Live 9. I hope these get fixed before the release.

@aMUSED have you sent a support request in, or have you tried re-downloading it? What you're experiencing is not typical.

Are you by any chance using a non-supported OS?

I'm surprised no body has mentioned using Echo yet. I have too many delay plugins to mention here, but Echo is an absolutely lovely tool and integrated nicely via Push.

I use Max quite a bit with Live, I'm not completely in agreement here. Don't get me wrong, I think it's not that bad, but from what I've read the big change is that Max is loaded on startup, not when you load your first MFL device. This gives an appearance of "Max is faster" the first time that you load a device, but not for subsequent loads. For subsequent loads, I'm not seeing that much difference.

In the past, however, loading Max is a factor in Live's stability, so hopefully there is some maturity in the software there. Loading Max's editing environment still has that slow Maxish feel. I'm not running the newest of machines here, but it's no slouch. Live 10 is ready to use in about 5 seconds from clicking on the icon in the start menu. Live 9 is about the same, so clearly they've made some improvements.

FWIW, I've changed my mind on this. I'm going to upgrade. It's not really the big things that has changed my mind, it's the multitude of small changes that make Live 10 simply better to use.

Installed the Drum Essentials, Drum Booth, & Synth Essentials so far. Waiting to install the Keyboards as it’s above 2GB download size. The synth pack is rather nice from my brief experimentation with it. will dive into the others when I have a free moment
Where do you download the new packs? I have the beta up and running, but can't find any info about the new packs.

I go back and forth on the font. I'm probably not quite as picky as you. But I do hope it's a real "beta" and they address some more things before release. The lack of scaling of the preferences dialog would downright embarrass me if it were my GUI. (as would the indecipherable headphone icon)

Still, I don't mean to be too negative. I like a lot of the new stuff. And when I A/B the programs, I want to stay in the new one.

Forget it ... I found them in my account

You know you can download and install them directly from Ableton's browser now? Just scroll down to the bottom of your Packs folder and you'll find pack Updates and Available Packs.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. Just started downloading them ... its gonna take more than 12 hours :help: :hyper:

I've had no issues running the beta so far (Win 8.1), and I absolutely love the Wavetable Synth. The display on Push2 for the new features is awesome too ...

I'm in the beta so posted a bug report. It's EL Cap so no. This is the second time I downloaded it, the install checks out otherwise OS-X wouldn't even open the dmg

As to grouping, I do not like that resizing the group header track to minimal closes the sub-tracks. In effect, you're stuck with a larger size group header and it looks odd. Having the button to open/close is sufficient.

Was expecting a mess but it's rock solid even with many of my third party plugins.
