Yep, and he's not some big mega corporate mogul making a ton of dough or anything, he likely is struggling to finance himself as much as anything while dealing with his condition. We all have our rocks to push uphill.fluffy_little_something wrote:Poor fellowKnowing about people's problems often puts the rest in perspective...

Count another here, four emails in two separate accounts.
He may claim whatever he feels will get your sympathy, but don't fall for it.
Don't get WilK'd.

I would find no reason to call him out. And as part of that, he removed me from the constant SPAM. Now it's back, guess the deal is off then.
And it's not bi-polar, it's BPD, (Borderline Personality Disorder)

oh yeah that's not serious at all
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a serious mental disorder marked by a pattern of ongoing instability in moods, behavior, self-image, and functioning. These experiences often result in impulsive actions and unstable relationships. A person with BPD may experience intense episodes of anger, depression, and anxiety that may last from only a few hours to days.
Some people with BPD also have high rates of co-occurring mental disorders, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and eating disorders, along with substance abuse, self-harm, suicidal thinking and behaviors, and suicide.
While mental health experts now generally agree that the label "borderline personality disorder" is very misleading, a more accurate term does not exist yet.

Regardless of whether WilK suffers from BPD, BD, or nothing at all, it doesn't excuse the kind of shit described here. Bipolar disordered and borderline personality disordered people are still aware of their morally wrong actions and are still accountable for them.
A well-behaved signature.

Yep, if people don't want to deal with him, have your spam filter do it. And bipolar could also be part of BPD. Either way, dude has my sympathy.ATS wrote:BBFG# wrote:Count another here, four emails in two separate accounts.

I get the emails, but I had signed up for the newsletter I am sure years ago and they aren't that many to offend me.
I knew he had mental issues but didn't know what it was.
Now I have a better idea I do feel bad about going on a few of his threads and giving him a piece of my mind for never fixing issues and moving to the next generation constantly.
I wish him well.
Hopefully he has another software development job beyond wusikstation. I can't imagine that is doing that well.

Really? He has been THAT bad to people around here? You make him sound like a child molester or something. From what I see, he's not a good manager, probably because of his condition, and he over-promises and does pre-orders when he thinks he can deliver, and the reality hits and he simply can't and doesn't possess the capacity to deal with it all effectively. But his products cost less than most, even his bundles, so I don't see why anyone would be THAT upset about him. Dust your shoes off an move on if you don't want to deal with him. I just don't see any reason to demonize him.BBFG# wrote: Let's be a bit more specific then...
Narcissistic, prone to pathological lies and abstractions, cycles align more with abusers than bi-polar and has a complete lack of empathy toward others. While there are 'bi-polar' traits, they aren't pronounced and aren't the predominant features. If you aren't trained and in a position of authority to cognitively draw him past his 'border', then make no mistake, he sees you as a victim. Or someone to play to get you to support his behavior.
And I find this ironic, as you seem to have no empathy for him:
complete lack of empathy toward others

Enough. Deal with at your own risk.
You're not doing him any favors by supporting his bad behavior. Because as long as he feels he's getting away with it on one, he will continue to seek our more to do it to.

Yes, but your comments are disturbing if you work with the mentally ill. If he has no empathy for others as part of his condition, you should still have empathy for him. If that is indeed NPD that he even has, you are diagnosing him without him being your patient, that borders on malpractice and is certainly unethical, and you are stating it publicly which is certainly slanderous.BBFG# wrote:I work with dual-diagnosis clients, bi-polar, ADD/ADHD or OCD.
The difference is simple, my bi-polar clients have a conscience.
That's not usually present in NPD.

everyone is different, that is the problem with a lot of mental health professionals is they paint with way too wide of brush. It's not totally their fault though because there are so few compared to how many problems are out there.
