BTW, I gave him like $40 five or more years ago, I'm just defending his right to not be outright abused by people here. You are telling me to not show him empathy, which makes me more worried about you.

I gotta say things are different nowadays. It is REALLY nice to see so many understand and caring people about a mental disorder. Not that long ago a lot of people didn't even believe they were real.

No, this is empathy for his suffering that condition. I don't condone his business practices, but I can understand what he's going through. And are you even a doctor? Do you diagnose these conditions or do you change bed pans?BBFG# wrote:This is empathy towards that type of behavior.braj wrote:Yes, but your comments are disturbing if you work with the mentally ill. If he has no empathy for others as part of his condition, you should still have empathy for him.BBFG# wrote:I work with dual-diagnosis clients, bi-polar, ADD/ADHD or OCD.
The difference is simple, my bi-polar clients have a conscience.
That's not usually present in NPD.
Until he is forced to change, he won't.

Where does it say in the DSM-V that people with these disorders are unaware of the morality of their actions?ATS wrote:JerGoertz wrote:Regardless of whether WilK suffers from BPD, BD, or nothing at all, it doesn't excuse the kind of shit described here. Bipolar disordered and borderline personality disordered people are still aware of their morally wrong actions and are still accountable for them.
actually that is not always true at all.

Without getting into the thick of this unfortunate thread, I do find the discussion of someone else's mental state a bit uncomfortable. I get it, spam is annoying, but it's super easy these days to setup an email account just for music promotions and then setup filters in that account for anything that is abusive.
Beyond that, it's perfectly fine to publicly post annoying spam activity, but, I think that it crosses the line when we start talking about the mental condition of others. I think that it's fine to warn people not to subscribe to his stuff, lord knows I've given zeroG some guff over their practices, but really, they don't stress me out because, filters.
I have an account just for music promotion. Rest assured vendors, if you have my email account you don't actually have MY email account. You don't have the account that I read every day, that I worry about garbage making it likely that I'll miss important messages and if you ever do send something to that account for some odd reason, you get an instant and permanent block. I do have filters setup in my music account though and that's the easy way to filter people out whom you don't intend to buy from.

You'll have to find that yourself, I'm not gonna bother. I know from my own experiences and others I have known with mental disorders.JerGoertz wrote:Where does it say in the DSM-V that people with these disorders are unaware of the morality of their actions?ATS wrote:JerGoertz wrote:Regardless of whether WilK suffers from BPD, BD, or nothing at all, it doesn't excuse the kind of shit described here. But seriously, you don't believe some people with mental disorders are so far gone they don't know the difference between wrong and right? That's sad.

Yeah, I only brought up his condition because William himself did in the latest so-called 'spam' he sent me. I posted the video shared so he could 'say his peace' in his own words here.ghettosynth wrote:Without getting into the thick of this unfortunate thread, I do find the discussion of someone else's mental state a bit uncomfortable. Also having a mental disorder is nothing to be ashamed of. It does still have a lot of stigma attached. If someone has cancer everyone feels sorry for that person but a lot of people with mental disorders are pretty much discarded.

It's your job to support your assertions, not mine. My point stands, your silly dismissive attempt to pass the buck notwithstanding.ATS wrote:You'll have to find that yourself, I'm not gonna bother. lol it's been proven, just not to you. Everyone in the field already knows this. I don't really care a whole lot if you want to remain ignorant.

Did WilliamK walk into your house and kill your cat? No.
Did he send you an unsolicited spam? Probably.
As someone who also has a mailing list try to go to great lengths to keep everyone happy. You tell me you want off, you are off.
But I also understand the other side, all too well.
Computers die, backups are not always current.
I am not attempting to make excuses for anyone but maybe treat the email as what it is - another spam in an endless current of such.
Full disclosure - my Anomaly instrument uses the Wusik V6 Engine. So yes, I am biased, a little.
But I have wattched topics like these and they never seem to help things...
