Hi,

after next crash yesterday with biotek (I have avoided to try it for month now) and 8.2.6 beta I would be really interested if there is any approximate schedule when these with waveform sold instruments will be working on a normal standard win 64 bit pc/notebook inside waveform.

I have two completely different systems (newer notebook with win 64 win 10, older pc with 64 bit win 7), crahes (biotek), silent bug (collective) etc. on both.

At the beginning of the problems reports to the support (not lately I must admit, no more desire on this...).

None of this on both systems ever happened with T 7 (or before).

Biotek works without problems on theses systems with Mulab, Studio one 3,......

There had been beta versions with special logfiles for investigation of this problem as far as I know. Thank you for this effort, but after that not much been heart/seen aboout it.

But waveform 8 spookin around......

I am sure that you doing evrything possible to solve the problem cause you have ever done over the years but this is a really annoying situation and I would be really glad to know if there is any solution in sight.

Don't know for shure, they are trying to fix collective silence and other bugs, so for now Waveform and all others tracktion products are mostly frozen.

Maybe they concluded Waveform 8 is a lost cause and are focusing on Waveform 9 instead, with significant changes under the hood?

This seems a bit pessimistic and sad, yet a possible scenario for sure.

My guess is that all effort, or at least 95% is on W9 right now. There's relatively little time left this year to bring it to fruition on time, thus the crunch. A new version per year is the goal as far as I know, which offers an opportunity for aggressive feature enhancements, yet it leads to a product that's never quite there for a lot of users.

At this point I have a major project happening in T7, which needs to migrate to W8 in that T7 has rendering issues with certain plugs and I don't expect these issues will have an ounce of priority for the devs to sort out. If all goes good with this project inside W8, then great, yet it's stability factor is still an issue, so I keep waiting for another glitch shoe to drop. With W9 coming so soon, I fear W8 will also quickly loose any real support going forward.

Add to the mix that 32 bit is on the chopping block, and there seems no end to the screwing around one needs to engage in to achieve any kind of stable productivity.

End of rant...

I have to say, I really like Waveform. But lack of stability with plugins in general, keeps me using other DAW products. Hopefully at some point, time and effort will be allocated to make Waveform a reliable plugin hosting platform. On Mac, it's just not there right now. As a result, I shy away from doing anything of significance with it. By contrast, Cubase and Reason are both are rock-solid with plugins in my environment. Perhaps it's just my setup? Clearly understand that developer's need to prioritize their effort. If I were to have a vote, my number one request for Waveform is take a release cycle and really focus on stability with plugins. Even limiting it to only VST (versus AU and VST3) would be fine. Just something that builds confidence, so that the frequent plugin crashes don't occur.

Long time again since any of the stuff had been answering hear inside to anything.....

Have posted before on another thread: I can understand the concept behind it and that they need to bring out new stuff. But for me it is absolutely out of question that I wont buy any stuff from then again until that waveform 8 BETA has been develloped to a finished product that at least is able to work with the INCLUDED SOLD instruments Biotek and Collective on "normal" "standard" win 7 64 bit and win 10 64 bit machines.

I like the guys, I know they do what they can, I have paid for all versions since T 2, I dont worry that some of them that I have paid for are now Free Versions but this is just a point of no-go for me. There is this incredible stuff in wf 8 like the Midi pattern generator but if such fundamental things like included instruments just dont work....

And I am sure that if they dont get it to work in wf 8 problems will just transported to wf 9, thats no way.

After archives now empty and none of the tracktion guys in here for weeks I give this a BUMP cause meanwhile this all seems kind of strange to me......
