@evilmarshmallow,

Have you tried asking them about all this, you wont get any consideration if you don't ask. Because this is a version jump, they seem to be handling things differently than normal. If you have a concern that jeopardizes your standing as an Ableton customer, you really should bring it up with them. You might just be surprised at their response. Discussing it in an outside forum definitely isn't going to accomplish anything.

Not trying to give you a hard time here, just offering you some good advice. Seriously...

If only it were a DAW I would want to use...

I don’t know if it’s overpriced in general, but considering it’s lacking a feature that I’m relying on more and more, MPE support, it’s very overpriced and I’ll be abandoning Live in favor of Bitwig. I’ll probably use Waveform until I scare up the funds for Bitwig, but that’s what my future looks like. Sorry Ableton, this revenue stream is going elsewhere.

:hihi:

I find it hard to resist myself from bullying poor FL as well.

I wonder why these FL kids keep spamming non-FL threads, are they that desperate to get a real DAW? I wouldn't be surprised if they were all using a pirated version of FL.

A lot of classic hits were made with FL from EDM to Hiphop.

If that's not real enough for a superstar producer like you ... then what is ?

To be clear , I don't use it ....just saying your comment is ignorant

FL is not a toy...
Now for the record Bitwig and Live are the DAWs that I use the most. But I started with FL and I still use it for a lot of midi work with that Piano Roll.
It is more than a capable program with awesome features, fantastic workflow, and a tremendous company developing it. Not to mention it’s being used by some of the worlds top electronic producers. If someone thinks it’s a Toy then they clearly haven’t used it, or haven’t used it since the early 2000s...
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

To put it simply, fl is the most bang for buck daw out there. Fl's piano roll is also the sexiest hand down. :)

Cheers Mate!
No offense taken. Yes, I've written to them already. Let's see if they'll come to the party

After watching Sonicstate I'm coming round to this update a bit more. I think I'm quite feeble minded where resisting DAW updates is concerned.

lol real men don't touch this hipster DAW too. They go straight to Cubase or Logic.

It seems even Ableton can hardly articulate why we should upgrade. As a suite 9 owner I can't for the life of me see nearly enough reasons at that price. It's like 50 bucks per feature and a lot of expected features of this generation of DAWs are still missing.

Don't forget the big updates to 9 were mostly panic updates to offset some of Bitwig's thunder. It's unlikely 10 will bring as many substantial improvements. And if they do, there are enough sales down the line to not have to settle for this measly 20% off.

Not even considering it at this point, honestly. I'm almost glad Ableton are making this so easy.
