There is a 'Mac' version that is not native... it is just the Windows version in a wrapper... There is a native Mac version but it is in beta (really alpha). It is a long way away from being the equal of the PC version.samsam wrote:And is there a Mac version?

Yeah, I still maintain a Mac in my studio. I prefer it to the PC for a number of reasons. It's the heart of my midi control because having midi be a first class citizen does provide benefits.pdxindy wrote:lots of them...tooneba wrote:people still using mac?
For example, I love this little utility:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/capture ... 5598?mt=12
When I sit down to play something on my keyboard, it's always being captured and I can drag and drop the clips onto any DAW. So my Mac is the machine where I have a full sized keyboard permanently parked.
OTOH, it's a 98 pound weakling compared to my Windows desktop where I do all of my mixing and run a significant number of plugins. In order to get a mac that's as powerful as my Windows machine I would have had to spend about 2X on the hardware.

so yepp, the diff. is realxbitz wrote:nothing wrong with FL just its minimal starter third-party plugin pack is little bigger than the others
FL Studio Signature + analogue modeled stuffs like
Brainworx Vertigo Sound VSC-2
Plugin Alliance - Maag EQ4
Plugin Alliance - bx subfilter
Slate Digital Virtual Mix Rack
Slate Digital - FG-MU
Slate Digital - FG-Red
Slate Digital - Virtual Channel
Slate Digital - Virtual Mixbuss
Waves - API 2500
Waves - API 560
Waves - SSL Compressor
etc.
by default the sound of it is simple true sterile
it can be heard even on crappytube, the main goal here how to give back the analogue dirty to its soundscape, even a Console emulation plugin can be big help to it

There is a certain irony in the fact that not a single IL customer bought FL Studio because of a imaginable Mac version that maybe will be released one day or another as a kind of bonus.pdxindy wrote:The Mac 'beta' has been around for years... and it is nowhere near ready. On the other side we have the thousands and thousands customers which once bought Logic for PC and got screwed big time. Now some "experts" here think they can blame IL for a not functional Mac version?
How naive some can be..

Don't know why you are bent out of shape... and talk of blame? that is your own creation. As far as I am concerned, IL has no obligation to provide a Mac version so there is no fundamental problem and thus blame is a meaningless concept.murnau wrote:Now some "experts" here think they can blame IL for a not functional Mac version?

I described the state of things re: the Mac version because it was brought up and some people asked. It is going to be a long time before the Mac version has feature parity.

+1 it's still a composer tool, can't be used or PITA for multi-track recording, post-processing etc. things, FL + Harrison Mixbus (for ex.) count as whole, FL is where the creative things aremurnau wrote:Hell no! I too, find the update a little expensive. Live 9 lasted for 5 years, so 200 eur once every 5 years is somewhat ok'ish.
I am not upgrading any time soon. Maybe in a year, maybe 2. Live 9 works fine for me. Being an early adaptive usually pairs with headaches, frustrations and a lot of initial updates.
