Try to pronounce Repro-5 with your tongue cleaved to the roof of your mouth...

How? 5's "f" and "v" are pronounced by touching lower lip to your upper teeth, which you can do with tongue glued to the ceiling of your mouth. Let's analyze thisariston wrote:I'm getting "Lepplo Scheiss".DuX wrote:Try to pronounce Repro-5 with your tongue cleaved to the roof of your mouth...
I agree on "Leepplo" though

That'll certainly give you a general idea to the type of sound Repro has, but there's enough significant differences between them outside of being polyphonic to make them standout. ie there's mono sounds you could make in Repro5 that you simply couldn't do in Repro1, and vice-versa. Hence why the two will be bundled togetherAnX wrote:I dont understand the fuss. If you want to know what it sounds like, try repro1.
Repro1 will also be seeing a couple additional benefits in this update from Repro5's engine, no idea if Urs has discussed that publicly yet so better not say what they are exactly

Yes it does.spunkmuffin wrote:You would think it would sound like Repro-1 wouldn't you? However it doesn't, surprisingly.AnX wrote:I dont understand the fuss. If you want to know what it sounds like, try repro1.

Is this without using the effects? Or is it using the different effects Repro-5 has?Arksun wrote:ie there's mono sounds you could make in Repro5 that you simply couldn't do in Repro1
Ooh what could this possibly beArksun wrote:Repro1 will also be seeing a couple additional benefits in this update from Repro5's engine, no idea if Urs has discussed that publicly yet so better not say what they are exactly

Without using effects. Simply because you can unison up to 8 voices and pan them in stereo. Repro-1 cannot do that. Also, modulation ranges are different (less extreme), and some modulations are simply not available (feedback modulations, for example), so there WILL be some changes in the core sound, too.

I agree that there is a strong similarity between them... but there are significant differences too.AnX wrote:The core sound is the osc/filter.
RePro-5 has unison and since you can use voices as a modulator, you can for example set each voice with a different filter cutoff... It also has an Osc model that RePro-1 does not have. There are also envelope differences between them... and of course there is polyphony. RePro-5 has the per voice distortion and 'Velvet'.

I know all that, thats why i said 'core sound'. None of the other stuff changes that. All nice additions, but the 'core sound' is the same.pdxindy wrote:I agree that there is a strong similarity between them... but there are significant differences too.AnX wrote:The core sound is the osc/filter.
