K11 was released in Sept 2016.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=4

I bought into K11U via buying a used Maschine that came with k8 standard I think it was. Then the upgrade to U was reasonable. But yeah, I never buy individual NI plugins. They're just too expensive. Just get KxxU and then upgrade every year or every other year if you feel it's compelling.

And on the BF topic, I agree. Things seem quiet this year so far. Last year things were hopping a bit more by now if I remember correctly.
Not going to spend the $2000+ I spent last year though. :)

But yes, don't fall for the 'early' BF sales hype. It's all BS. The real prices don't land until Black Friday.

September 2016. The last few Komplete's have been on an 18 month cycle so i assume they plan to continue that pattern. Having said that, this year's BF sale seems a lot more Komprehensive (!) than previous years so who knows if things are changing..?

That's a useful link! Gonna save that in my Google Docs for reference. Pretty impressive how much it's changed and grown over the years.

By that math, on the K11 standard crossgrade from Kontakt, you pay about $7 per product. Not too shabby!

Is there a discount on updating to Edition 2 from Edition 2 LE?
We're not able to sell Waldorf Upgrades.

I just got the waldorf newsletter in my email.

There's 50% of all their software using "yourday", try that.
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

that works, but, I'm trying to figure out how I would upgrade my old Waldorf Edition LE, and whether or not I want to.

It won't install on any of my current machines, I suspect, owing to the outdated elicenser software.

Any suggestions?

On Edit: Who knows what copy protection that they're using. It seems that all you need is the CD and an older than dirt computer. I managed to install them on some old celeron running XP that's, of course, not connected to the net. I seemed to remember that it was a waste of time, but wow, I didn't remember it being that lame.

What did they do with version 2, anything significant?

Edit: Trying to decide if I should get K11 or K11U right away. I want the Symphony Essentials at some point down the line. It's dumb that the Symphony Essentials crossgrade costs as much as the damn K11U upgrade. NI's pricing scheme for individual products makes no sense whatsoever. It's like they've overvalued everything so high that it's only worth it to buy Komplete, and that's it.
I haven't used Superior Drummer so i can't make that comparison.

This is (k)omplete speculation here but following NI's release schedule, i'm expecting K12 to come out in March with another Summer Of Sound sale a few months later. I'm on K10U and I'm gonna wait, but that's mainly because i need the money for Ableton 10.
After I got Komplete, I use studio drummer that comes with it all the time, I even sold my AD2.
However, you can't mix and match kits like standalone software.

Will this NI "Thanksgiving XXL" sale change at all on Black Friday?

Based on the past, no, it will not change.

I think last year they did not have 50% on upgrade prices on Black Friday.

I'm sorry, but the youtube video posted on their page has gain adjustment missing.

I liked most of Steve's packs, but this demo video is not showing anything for me.

That has nothing to do with Tappistry's question, though.

He/she is wanting to know if the NI is going to have *new* offers specifically on Black Friday.

I pointed out that they do not change the sale on Black Friday. In other words, the deal you currently see at NI is as good as it's going to get this year.

Oh, that was a misinterpretation on my part. Thought was meant if their offers changed because they're doing it every year ;)
