Tried that to get around my issue that I mentioned on the other thread to get Repro-1 to see my old favourites......
So I copied the one from the mac.
However it only works on the top level presets.. that is the Local presets,
any subfolders like Lead, Bass etc they don't work.
I suspect it maybe because I have always when copying from one to another had to change / to \ and vice versa.
Maybe the copying doesn't take this into account? Which for me on both pc and mac and liking to keep them as mirror like as possible could prove 'challenging'.

There now is a preset database file which holds all this information.
On Mac it is stored here: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/u-he/Repro-1/PresetDatabase
And on Win, you can find it in the data folder: \Repro-1.data\PresetDatabase
Note that there is a separate folder for the Repro-5 database on Mac, but on Windows, both are in the same Repro-1.data folder.
You could take the preset database from one computer and put it in place on the other one.
During loading of the plugin, the database will scan the preset folders and update itself in order to show which presets are actually available on that machine. But favourites, junk, search history and saved searches from your first computer should then show up on the machine you copied the database to.

Another tip: You can drag smart folders (like the favourites, junk or saved searches) and drop them in the folder structure, e.g. inside the User area of the presets directory. They will then be converted into real folders, holding copies of all those presets. You can then transfer the folders with those presets to another machine.
Edit: Ah, I see Howard was faster than me and already mentioned that tip. :)

Yup, could be. I'll add it to the bug-list, I'm sure there is a way to make that work for the final release.
That's what a public beta is for, to find the things we (me) overlooked or simply didn't think of during prior testing. So, thx again.

Wasn't complaining.

Haha, no worries. I didn't see your post as a complaint. Sorry if my answer was giving that impression. All good, I am happy you're reporting those issues. Keep the bug reports coming, that's the only way we can fix them. :)

Another possible limitation for me with a non editable favourites database is sometimes I move stuff.

Years after favouriting them.......My OCD kicks in so lets say a sound designer creates a second bank for a particular u-he synth.. I know create a subfolder for his/her work and put the banks I have for him there.
With the older system it was easier for me to edit the favourite.xml file, what would I do now...would all those favourites for the moved bank(s) be gone?

Or look at the current Factory Beta bank that I am favourite stuff now.....By release I I am sure I would put it in a subfolder like I did with Hive, Repro-1, Diva I believe as well etc.

First of all,
It all works like it always did, with the tagged search added as an *option*.
Thank you for that. Thank you, thank you, thank you...

Would it be possible to either provide the option to turn off drag and drop, or to reduce it's sensitivity? It's fine with a mouse, but with my pen/tablet, and with my touch screen, I've already inadvertently moved folders into other folders several times. Like '08 Chords' being moved into '07 Pads'. Maybe an acknowledgement screen on a folder move?

Minor things, it would be nice if the 'Show Preset info' setting persisted. And it would be nice if the expansion for folders was different from the expansion for tags. For example, open one down for folders and open none for tags.

Maybe it's because I'm using the beta on Linux with airwave, but the cursor keys don't change the preset as they used to. Everything else is a big improvement :)

Also :-)
How do I search using Tags of only my Favourite Presets?
I read you can double click and select a physical folder for the tag search, but doesn't seem to work on virtual/smart search ones like Favourites...

You can move folders around inside the folder tree of the browser. When you do this, the presets in those folders of course keep their favourite or junk status.

Currently, double-clicking to dive into folders will only work for physical folders.

One example for achieving what you want to do: If you want to search for all your presets with the orange favourite tag which have the Seq feature tag set, you can type the following into the text search field: #Favourite 3 #Seq

yes, I figured I could do it with search functions, but was hoping to be able to do it with Tags.
Why? Well when I get any bank I spend hours going thru and selecting my favourites so that when I want to search for sounds I mostly only look at my favourites...so to be able to use your new Tag Browser it would make sense for me to use it only on my favourites. Hopefully you guys can do it... one way I imagine is in the Tag Browser have the option to choose a Favourite as part of the Tag Browser search parameters. If that makes sense.

Thanks.
Do you not sleep? :-)

On the subject of Favourites (inefficient UK spelling): it would be nice if we could rename the Favourites folders under the directory tab rather than just showing Favourites 1, Favourites 2, etc. I'm going to want to put some type of logic behind what presets get categorized as what type of favorite.

So speaking for myself here, there's no way I'll be able to keep track of whatever arbitrary Favorite convention I come up with for what goes in Favourites 1 versus Favourites 2. Especially months down the road. But if I could have "Favorite 1" appear as "Vintage Synth Sounds" in the Browser, and "Favorite 2" as "Electronic Atmospheres," it would help me maintain some order. Rather than search #favourites3, I could search #Electronic_Atmospheres for examples.

Even if I'm in the Tags view and I forget and ask myself, "which one was blue - was that 'Electronic Atmospheres' or my 'Wubalubadubdub' folder" I could always pop over to the Directory view for quick confirmation and assign the preset to the correct favorites folder.

Also...who put "Mark as Junk" above "Mark as Favourite" in the menu? You trying to make me click the wrong one? Please put Mark as Junk at the bottom of the "Mark as" section of the menu. 1) It's placing it in alphabetical order and 2) it's going to prevent me from mis-selecting the junk option.

I also don't know why Favourite 1 is gray, which has the least contrast in the directory view. I'd probably make the first one yellow and Favourite 8 the gray one.

I already did this on Zebra preset browser. :dog: good idea to separate them!

Makes sense about separating make junk and make favourite.

For now I am just using one favourite colour.
Which one? the one that I like aesthetically the best against the gui :-)

I've been experimenting with the favorites and trying a few different things out and for now, sticking to one color is the easiest approach. I started by trying to categorize the favorites by colors but forgot which category went with what colors. Hence the idea to allow us to rename the favorites so they'd be more meaningful.
