Oh and I'm utterly grateful that the inevitable request for an emulation of a Rev 2 has been "forgotten" for an initial moment of excitement

Everyone’s talking about cpu hit.
I have a MacBook Pro mid 2014 i7
2.4 ghz quadcore.
In Reaper with all 8 voices blasting away at bottom left in plugin it only reports about 4% ! And this is with HQ and multicore enabled.
Is Reaper reporting inaccurately or is my MacBook Pro special and has a special fairy dust sprinkled in it?
Well I am Irish

Really nice.
Runs very stable here and looks beautiful on macos 10.12.6 4k. Also never reaches CPU 1core limit, even with HQ and w/o multicore. CPU is max. 132% with patch "HS Mannequin" on a i7 4770 4x 3,4ghz in multicore / hq mode. So I guess some overhead (+32%) for multicore mode?
Preset browser is fantastic!
Except for the blocky-moving scrollbar, since it feels very weird and non intuitive. IMO either:
- Content pixelwise scroll, scrollbar pixelscroll. Like when the next page is reached while moving scrollbar, there is a quick content scroll transition to the next page.
- Another scrollbar concept, like a "flexible tabbar": [XXX| | ] <- for 3 pages
- Or at least indicate the full scrollbar area with a slight grey

See Reaper's Performance monitor and check out the RT CPU amount, it's going to be different. Also check out the task manager of your OS for even more accurate CPU figures.rightofway wrote:Everyone’s talking about cpu hit.

Multi threading certainly adds overhead and it depends on a few thing if the boost you get from MC outdoes the overhead. Having said this, we noticed some differences in the performance boost between windows and mac and are looking into it.Hanz Meyzer wrote:Really nice.

How many cores do you have set in RePro-5 preferences page?pekbro wrote:In bitwig, the multi-thread option seemingly works as expected. A substantial break on the cpu hit.
Just sayin.
I'll test with Bitwig tonight, that's mostly where I'll be using this, so this is good news if so!

My Rev 2 Prophet is long gone so a direct comparison is only a memory from a long time ago. That said, this sounds infinitely better then I remember my machine sounding !!!! A usual stellar work from the team, tried to upload a patch and I get The extension h2p is not allowed.
Mac Studio M4

What a warm and lovely sound, thx urs.
I've tested this masterpiece only on an old i3 laptop yet, i7 desktop will follow. It runs fine without drops on settings hq->off and mc->on on a dual core i3@2GHZ.

Is anyone having problems with MIDI Learn? I'm in Cubase 9.5 and can't get learn to work. I opened Diva and it's working fine.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Windows 10 and Bitwig 2.2.2 on an Intel 4790k w/ 32GB RAM and an M2 SSD. Audio is from an Apollo Twin Duo that's bound with ASIO4ALL to my ES-8/ES-3/ES-6:
Unison is the CPU killer for me. With the preset TUC Straight Wide, 8 voices and HQ I must have MultiCore enabled or my system chokes.
If I had a wish it would be that MC could be enabled permanently in the preferences.
Everyone else has shared the superlatives so I'll just chime in with what everyone else has been saying about the sound of this beast.

I have kind of a big problem.
I'm an owner of Repro-1. Running the latest OS X (High Sierra) and the latest Ableton Live 9.
I didn't uninstall Repro-1 or anything prior to running the new installer package. I did a full system restart, but when I go to drag (or double-click) Repro-1, Ableton crashes every single time. I've done it multiple times, and I've done it with a completely blank project with no other plugins present.
For what it's worth, because I own Zebra2 and Hive also, I have those plugins (including my "old" repro-1) "outside" of the u-he folder. The reason for this is simple. If I keep them in the u-he folder, it's just one more click I have to do to get to my plugins. Thus, I go into my plugin (vst) folder and drag them out of the u-he folder.
My next option would be to try to uninstall the old repro-1 (sitting outside of the u-he folder), but I'm afraid I'll lose my presets if that's the case?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing around with Repro-5, but unfortunately, I can't get either version of Repro-1 to open without an immediate crash. Please let me know if you need additional information to help diagnose things.

Also, I just opened a project with prior instances of Repro-1. When I go to open the plugin window, Ableton crashes too :-/
