First part is my mod of Howard's patch. Notice the stab at 6th and 19th sec sounds short and staccato, like "zap", as it should be. Second part is original factory patch, it's a bit long and there's more modulation. All in all, I found reducing filter and amplifier release, as well as delay mix amount, helped get that sort of a drier stab right. It's not quite there yet, though. Playing with Osc A frequency around value 4 also gets you interesting results.

If you'd like to tweak it yourself, you could find a decent One of my turns midi file to play with here. I'll attach my modified patch as well.

Many thanks to Howard for these Floyd patches, it's a good starting point for tweaking them further to one's liking. "Run like Hull" is a bitchin' lead patch. great stuff :tu:

A couple thoughts for U-He.

You really knocked it out of the park. This makes the entire package with the Repro-1 and Repro-5 absolutely amazing. I have been using the Repro-1 for a while now and it's been one of my favorite synths but this thing... this is truly something else.
I think it's a genuine breakthrough in softsynth technology.
It defied all my expectations. Not to knock Diva but in a lot of ways this sounds more authentic than Diva even. Perhaps because it is focusing on the sound of ONE synth: the Prophet 5 and all its specific nuances. Diva is more of an analog catch-all (I love Diva by the way, I'm not trying to put it down).
Lots of time and care was put into Repro-5. I want to say my hat is off to you for not going the easy route and simply making a cut and paste polyphonic Repro-1, you took the time to make this a unique beast of its own.

Here are some things I would like to see done with this:
-Would love to see a Repro-VS. I don't know what the legal status is on Prophet-VS waves but if there was a Prophet-VS with as much care and detail as the Repro-5 then it would truly be amazing
-In both the Repro-1 and Repro-5 I would love to see some Prophet-5 "inspired" HP and BP filters on the tweaks page (not authentic, I know).
-That Velvet module, you HAVE to make that a standalone plugin. I am always looking for ways to introduce GOOD noise in a DAW and not just have the noise be passive but actually affecting the overall signal slightly.
-Maybe some digital type envelopes under tweaks. Imperfect, stepped.
-Is there any way you can put alternate waves into the S&H? What if I want to feed a triangle into the S&H instead of pink noise?

The Velvet module is Satin.

lol duh, gonna have to get Satin now. It's just what I've been looking for.
That's the same reason I bought Bazille, I was on a forum asking if there was a synth that could do x, y and z and they said Bazille and they were right, it was exactly what I had been looking for.

A little ditty that's all Repro-5. This thing is great, Urs. I've moved mostly to hardware in the years since I first bought Zebra, maybe 2007...but Repro has drawn me back, at least as an add-on to the keyboards. It sounds so good it's a little shocking to me.

David Else wrote:Hello,

The Linux version plays great, but there are graphics bugs. It opens with the lower part (with the effects) cut off. If you float the window in Reaper it is still cut off.

If you decrease the size to 90% you can then see most of the GUI, but now I can't set it back as the preferences no longer respond. See attachment.

I can close the window and then it reverts back to being in the Reaper embed and I can use it again (the preferences goes away)

I am using Fedora 27 on Intel built in graphics. Thanks for making Linux again!!
If I understand you right, yes, the 90% and lower scale conflicts with prefs,
you must dock or undock to get function back. Same with Reaper. The effects display
_instead_ of the keyboard, when you click the vertical Effects button bottom left.

Early Bitwig had similar issues, where sometimes the gui didn't update fully until mimized
and raised. Set prefs at 100%, scale as desired, press Effects button
Cheers

it sounds great!!

Amazing. Bought it after right after trying it.
Truly stellar sound.

I don't have bugs to report, only a small suggestion/feature request.
Would it be possible to add the option to enable multicore on or off by default?
I know that you can save a plugin as a preset in your DAW, etc... still would be useful to have this option inside the plugin.

Thanks

fluffy_little_something wrote:Interesting, the MC feature does reduce the load somewhat, albeit by only about 10% of the non-MC load. In Diva switching on the multi-core support makes my DAW overload immediately, so the one in Repro at least seems to work the way it should :tu:
Yesterday I tried it on the MacBook Pro, and the CPU drop was about 20% across 4 cores - not the huge and glorious 75% drop I got on on the Windows i7. Interesting.

For orientation purposes: Sadly, it's too much of a CPU eating beast for me ;-)

I'm getting a continuous flow of xrun crackles on Linux, Fedora 27, i5-3570 @3.40GHz.

I missed out on one a few years ago. I wasn't ever into it that much. I can imagine this to happen at some point, but not in the foreseeable future ;-)

Those are options for a feature update. Getting filters right is a time consuming endeavour though. I would expect these to pop up in Diva first, as part of a Synthex-inspired upgrade. Not sure if, when and how.
That Velvet module, you HAVE to make that a standalone plugin.
Hehehe, dangayle beat me to it, but yes Velvet is Satin at its core, less the delay and flanger.
Maybe some digital type envelopes under tweaks. Imperfect, stepped.
A clear no... we added stepped digital envelopes to Diva for the fun of it ("look how crappy this was!"), but I truely despise the chirpy noises. I hated them on the 80ies samplers, I hate them on the Jupiter-6 and I was shocked to find them on a Prophet-08 in this century.

[edit: I originally wrote Prophet-6, but I think that one is perfectly fine. I meant the Prophet-08 of course]
Is there any way you can put alternate waves into the S&H? What if I want to feed a triangle into the S&H instead of pink noise?
We've been very careful not to overcook this thing with too many features. Adding S&H is a nice stretch, but adding an input to the S&H unit wasn't typically done in non-modular synths.

We had to leave XP behind a bit more than a year ago, when we upgraded our development environment. Circumstances have made it very tricky to keep up with latest developments and at the same time maintain backward compatibility.

So far I did a few hours test in FL Studio 12 and a few hours in Studio One 3. In FL Studio I came across hanging notes one time, but I experienced the same thing with Hive. It is only when I use the mouse to play notes on the virtual keyboard, and it is only in FL Studio. Besides from that I didn't notice anything worth reporting.

I made a Japanese Koto sound with Repro-5 that really took me by surprise. Sounds awesome :D
