System here includes an AMD FX6300 6-core CPU at 3.5 GHz. Last night I made some test pieces for a couple presets. A 4-voice piece for Howard's Cinema Plush peaked the CPU usage at 48%, which dropped to around 35% in MultiCore mode.
A 4-note chord of that patch uses 23% (31% in HQ mode) on my 4-core Ryzen 1400X. MC support on vs off doesn't seem to make any difference with that patch.
Thanks for that report, it's good news. A system upgrade is on the TODO list, I've wondered whether I should stay with AMD and build a Ryzen-based box. It's affordable, I just haven't read much about its performance in an audio-centric system.

Best,

What? I've never heard that. In fact, I've heard the opposite. Cockpits and planetariums all use red on black because it doesn't affect your night vision (and undoubtedly, dark studios and bedrooms)

Blue on black is terrible.

Hm, I have heard that repeatedly over the years...

It is also the most erotic color combination out there. :hihi: (supposed to be)

In the context of what they're showing, sure. Regardless of foreground color, an entirely black background is almost always a terrible idea. Especially that example they post. But red on black is one of the least terrible options, especially considering the night vision and color blindness considerations.

Yes, it can cause eye strain.
It also depends on the person, the lighting and the monitor.
Always best to have a lighter color against black.

Yes, like monochrome monitors 30+ years ago, they had either amber or mamba green fonts, I don't think there were any with red fonts.

Repro-5 manual opens correctly in Adobe Reader. It's repeatable. And a little annoying, because Preview is my default reader. Time to switch to Adobe?
That's actually a bug that Apple introduced when they 'fixed' pdf problems in Sierra.
Try downloading the Repro-5 manual from the first post of page 1 of this thread. If I remember it correctly, Howard saved that version with Adobe Reader, so it should work correctly (I hope).

It might eventually help to first deinstall Repro completely (but don't forget to save your own presets), and then reinstall. A similar case was solved this way, because the user had version 1.0 of Repro-1 installed on a different location than where he installed the update. So he had two versions of the plugin installed and this confused the host and led to crashes. If this doesn't solve your problem, do as the boss already suggested and write us a mail to the support team.

The WIP version of the manual (from page 1) worked with Preview. Thanks

Yep, that's on our todo list. :)
Yorrrrrr wrote:2. In RePro-5, velvet presets can't be selected with the mouse wheel.
That's the same as in any other module-preset list (e.g. the Repro-1 sequencer module presets, or all the Hive module presets). It's not a full-blown preset browser, merely a dropdown list of presets to select.

In which case it is inconsistent as the mouse wheel does work on the other drop-down menus...

I took my favorite self-made patches from my Prophet 8 and tried to replicate them on the Repro-5. Sometimes I had to check twice to see if I didn't record the same synth twice - they sounded that similar! On other patches I struggled a bit more to get them to sound the same, since the unique character of the two synths started to show.

I can't believe how good Repro-5 sounds! I remember getting totally psyched by Diva about 5 years ago, and now it happens all over again.

The first synth is always the Prophet 8 (download for uncompressed audio):

Somebody compared the Arturia Prophet 5 with the Repro-5?
For monophonic sounds the Repro-1 was very close but this could be different with polyphonic sounds.

Other dropdown menus don't load files from hard drive, so yeah. Perfectly reasonable limitation there.

I just tested this on my 12-core Mac pro (2013)

So far with the Beta I can play with HQ and MC both on easily on any patch and it never goes above 40% in Ableton Live 9s DSP meter @ 48khz.

*Updated* Found the option to choose how many threads to use, and I ended up changing that to 8. Now playing all 8 voices i get a steady 27% CPU Usage.

Here's a screenshot of the build I used to test it with.
