AS I knew it would, Repo-5 sounds great. Can I make one request for all U-he synths! Please add midi learn to the next and back buttons when scrolling through the presets.
Arturia synths can do this, it is a joy to browse through their preset menus from the controller.

Sorry, but yes it is mentioned in the first post, right at the top:SeymourMills wrote:So the demo version is all you get in this beta release? That fact is never mentioned in the first post.

I also had a lot of xruns with a single R5 instance and jack@512. I disabled CPU frequency scaling with cpupower and now it's rock solid with MC+HQ even with a 256 buffer.kapsap wrote:On my machine with the same CPU I can't even run a single instance of Repro-5 with reasonable latency without regular xrun crackles.
So, what are your JACK settings? Are you using JACK 1 or JACK 2? What kind of audio interface are you using? RT or regular kernel?
And for the developers: Do you think at least a single instance of Repro-5 might or maybe even should be possible on a i5-3570 @ 3.40GHz? Or would that be rather surprising?
Note: No complaint on CPU hunger intended. I bought Repro-1 not Repro-5. So I'm still perfectly happy even if I cannot run Repro-5 on any of my current machines
I also tried a RT kernel but that didn't make a big difference and it killed battery life.

Currently a session has 7 Repro-5 instances and 2 Repro-1 instances, all playing at the same time, plus two audio clip tracks, and it runs pretty well. i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz with 16GB RAM.

I have run Repro-5 on:
Intel NUC i5 - Intel Core i5-5250U CPU @ 1.60GHz × 4 mini-pc
Scarlett 6i6 USB interface
and got it NEARLY working glitch free 8 voices at once on Jack in Reaper with these settings:
/usr/bin/jackd -dalsa -dhw:USB -r48000 -p256 -n3 -Xseq
I am running Fedora 27 on the standard kernel that comes with it. I am going to have a go with the real time RT kernel when it is compiled, but Fedora 27 just came out and all the latest stuff is not quite ready.
256 samples is 16ms, so I am going for pretty low latency with no RT kernel. It works fine for some patches with full 8 voices, and other get the occasional crackle. I am hoping to fiddle about and get it perfect eventually, I have some geeky setting from the Reaper Linux thread to play about with

Maybe it's a silly question, but does the CPU get damaged when it is overloaded and starts to produce crackles, plops etc.?

Would love to see mod wheel as destination in the matrix so i can make delayed pitch vibrato with filter envelope
Or is this already possible in some other way i am not seeing?

Am having display issues with the manual in OSX Preview. The text is blurry and I can only read the first 5 or so pages - the rest are blank. Curiously I have exactly the same issue with the Diva manual, but all other PDFs on my system are fine (including other u-he ones)

It's already there - Global Modulation Lower Limit.D-Fusion wrote:Would love to see mod wheel as destination in the matrix so i can make delayed pitch vibrato with filter envelope

Or click on the Destination field and drag the blue gunsight thing to the lhs of the modwheel.

On my i3-4005U (2 cores 4 threads at 1.6 GHz) it runs quite reasonable at 512 sample buffer size (Scarlett 18i8), but I'm not using Jack but ALSA directly which usually for me yields less XRUNs (in Ardour 5.12). I tested with both an openSUSE 4.14.0 standard kernel as well as a very current 4.14.0 RT kernel (very similar config to the openSUSE kernel) and there is not much difference between those kernels.David Else wrote:Hello brother of Linux!kapsap wrote:On my machine with the same CPU I can't even run a single instance of Repro-5 with reasonable latency without regular xrun crackles.mevla wrote:As a follow-up on Linux use, here with Linux Mint 18 and Bitwig 2.2.2 there are no graphic wise shortcomings that I noticed so far. Technically, this is just the result of 0's occasionally backing up in the tubes. The 1's make the crackling noise, then the 0's release with a plop. I wouldn't worry about it.fluffy_little_something wrote:Maybe it's a silly question, but does the CPU get damaged when it is overloaded and starts to produce crackles, plops etc.?

It should be fine as long as it's properly cooled.fluffy_little_something wrote:Maybe it's a silly question, but does the CPU get damaged when it is overloaded and starts to produce crackles, plops etc.?

Thanks for pointing that out.

Download the WIP ones below the beta download - these were saved with Acrobat, fxing the Apple PDF bug issue.Mogular wrote:Am having display issues with the manual in OSX Preview. Don't really know if it's intended or not, but I can change the noise label to feedback by clicking repeatedly on it (front panel). It doesn't work consistently, though. AFAIK the jumper on tweaks page is the one that's supposed to change the option.
