and a tiny report seems "Velocity" variation doesn't work as Phrase Variation ..Track Variation is fine.

EDIT:
musicdevelopments wrote:Right, there is something wrong with Gadd4, I'll check that shortly!
seems some chords has same behavior for example i just found Eadd9 & Eadd2..

(late to party .. sorry if its discussed already)
just out of curiosity
isn't the Ostinato Generator should produce something like this chop patterns actually?
Yes, exactly, it creates fast repeated patterns (optionally slightly modified) that are useful for strings, for example.
A few people are already using it successfully.

The plan is that you will be able to select the notes that phrase generators can use. Just like today when rhythm is independent of the phrase generator, in the future the allowed notes will also come from outside, and all phrase generators will use only those notes.
This means fairly big changes in rendering logic and rewriting all phrase generators, and their inspectors...
That is why this will happen only in v4.0 because it will break backward compatibility with old composition files
Great news this will fit into my preferred way of working beautifully :tu:

I must admit this is on my to-do list for a long time. While having a Mute variation is a great idea, I can imagine a small icon next to the name that you could directly click, which could mute/unmute all selected phrases.

Right, it will be definitely more logical this way...

would great! :tu:
a little further (maybe a checkbox in the Settings to make this default optionally)
if its possible.. add automatically as default variation to every phrase that dragged to arrange ?

That would be even nicer.. You already have a mute all, on the track.. It would also need to be able to paint the phrase in a color indicating it is muted, like grayed out..

I think with the number of people here contributing, you won't be bored for a while. Especially seeing V4 ideas popping up.. lol we aim to keep you busy. :hyper:

I promise I am going to add Mute immediately after v3.4 in early/mid December.
Yes, you keep me busy, but I enjoy that. :) This ensures the development follows the real demand, instead of adding features that I think you would need...

Master track BPM vs Master track dialog BPM.. the dialog changes the master track BPM, but, not the other way around.. Looks like a bug, but, not sure if you have a reason behind that..

Thank you, crossovercable! :)

Yes, indeed, this is a small bug. It will be taken care of soon.
Thank you!

Hi Attila i'm looking for a quick way to adjust the velocity of individual voices in a chord using a track controller.Say for example I wanted to have the middle voice in the bars one and two louder than the other voices in the chord , then have the top voice in bars three , four and five louder and so on ...possible ?

Hi Sean,

you can add Velocity variation and draw a curve, but that does not distinguish notes by height. That is basically a function of time. I see the only solution is to edit the phrase in the phrase editor. These changes are easy in the editor. Select the necessary notes, then right click on a note to open the Note Inspector, then click on the Velocity slider to set a velocity value for all selected notes. If you use the same chord phrase many times, you may use a ghost copy, so that changing the parent phrase will change all copies.

Thanks,
Attila
