Try adding 3D in front of one of the sub folders names.cb8rwh wrote:Here it is
It should have been fixed that any folders in the 3D folder should be picked up but might not be working correctly.

Yeah putting 3D in front of the folder name works. I can use that method until a fix is released.
Thanks Phil.
Thanks Phil.

Just out of interest, what format do the Serum wavetables need to be exported in?Phil Sonic Academy wrote:Try adding 3D in front of one of the sub folders names.cb8rwh wrote:Here it is

I hope the fix will let the user select between HD or 3D after loading a Serum wavetable? Or use some kind of detection but still let the user chose the mode?Phil Sonic Academy wrote: It should have been fixed that any folders in the 3D folder should be picked up but might not be working correctly.
I would like to add my Serum tables path in ANA2 and when I make new tables in serum, to have them immediately available in ANA without any folder rename or copy. I'm kind of tired to convert from Serum for Avenger & Rapid, please make it easier in ANA.
Also I'd hoped the sampler will not import any dragged & dropped sample into it's local database, rather link it from hard drive location and only import it if I chose to save the preset. Many time I want to experiment with samples, most of the times it doesn't work, but the local database may get cluttered with unwanted files.
Bug report
macos High Sierra & Logic Pro
In tree mode, browsing the tables/folders with the arrow keys does not work: it only registers up & down keys, but it does not change folder automatically until clicked with mouse. Then right & left arrows are ignored. When browsing with up & down arrows, no table/sample is imported in OSC/sampler until mouse-clicked.
Feature suggestion
A C3 preview of all samples and wavetables when clicking the sources list or browsing with arrows.

Some good suggestions there... will have a think about better file management workflow.sircuit wrote:I hope the fix will let the user select between HD or 3D after loading a Serum wavetable? Please, keep the "Imported" option that doesn't require the user to copy/move samples.Phil Sonic Academy wrote: Some good suggestions there... will have a think about better file management workflow.
That is really appreciated!

Hoe does Ana2 compare to Spire or Massive soundwise?

I think it has been mentioned somewhere in this thread (so this is a +1), but the ability to embed external samples/wavetables into presets would be a really good piece of functionality to have...imo.Phil Sonic Academy wrote:Some good suggestions there... will have a think about better file management workflow.

Keep the sound source linked while the preset is not saved, import it when the preset is saved, embed it when the preset is exported.cb8rwh wrote:I think it has been mentioned somewhere in this thread (so this is a +1), but the ability to embed external samples/wavetables into presets would be a really good piece of functionality to have...imo.Phil Sonic Academy wrote:Some good suggestions there... will have a think about better file management workflow.
This reduces duplicates (not having the same sound source embedded in every preset) reduces waste (not all dragndropped files are necesaarily good to use in the future). And after the preset is exported, the import option (even batch import) could have the option to “unpack” the sound sources in the local library and import the preset in smaller size (with files not embedded anymore in the preset).
I’m writing from smartphone in the gym, I hope it makes sense

This sounds like a good idea... maybe some options in the settings for this so users can choose if the want always copy to folder or only copy on save or only copy on export. As not everyone wants the same workflow. I don’t care about HD space really so don’t mind duplicates if it makes life easier but others are different.sircuit wrote:Keep the sound source linked while the preset is not saved, import it when the preset is saved, embed it when the preset is exported.cb8rwh wrote:I think it has been mentioned somewhere in this thread (so this is a +1), but the ability to embed external samples/wavetables into presets would be a really good piece of functionality to have...imo.Phil Sonic Academy wrote:Some good suggestions there... will have a think about better file management workflow.

Will think this all through on Monday and come up with a plan.

Yeah options are always good!
I would always choose embed (if available), that way you know fine well that the preset will definitely work on another computer, in the case of creating preset packs.
EDIT: I understand that embedding would, based on the size of the sample embedded, increase the size of any preset considerably.

A tiny issue: the EQ background doesn't match the freqs displayed when moving points around. Obviously doesn't impact the sound.
Seems to happen on all GUI sizes.

Phil thank you for thinking on these suggestions. One more thing I’ll add then I’ll play more with Ana during the weekend.
If you mentioned introducing extra options in settings, one of my suggestions was a C3 preview for sound sources.
This is a long shot so i’m not even mentioning it as a feature request, rather as food for thought.
In settings you could implement a “octave span option” - one integer setting. Something like 1 oct for C3, 2 oct for playing two sounds during preview (c2 & c3), 3 oct for playing c2, c3, c4 - for example. Especially tables tend to sound so different on different octaves, I’ll use for sure a 3 note preview especially while accomodating with the synth.
On the same topic, 3d table preview with morph over the entire wavetable not just the first frame.
Thanks for listening
Edit: I have a core samples folder and I know it very well. Istead of wondering if a certain sample exists or not in my Ana libray, I’ll rather drop it every time I need it, straight from my local collection. Same for wavetables. It really saves the guesswork for us that use more than one synth/sampler.
