I've been using Traction 2.1 since 2006 and today it will only boot up in DEMO mode. The screen says it does not recognize my computer. I can't get to any of my saved projects or use it to create a new project. Will reinstalling the software work or will I lose all of my projects? Everything else on my computer is working fine. Please help!

If I remember correctly, and I'm not sure I do, the way in which T2 was registered was via a downloaded image file. Is it still on your PC? Perhaps someone can remind us what the file was called and help you locate it.
On a more positive note, Tracktion 6 is now free and will be able to open and run all your old projects. You'll need to create an account on www.tracktion.com, from where you can then download T6. When you start it up the first time (or subsequent times) you'll be able to register it and use it without the demo limitation.

You won't lose them. If subsequent editions of Tracktion are anything to go by, I suspect your settings file will also not be affected by reinstalling.nize wrote:Yes it's still on my PC. I would like to know if I have to uninstall/reinstall it will I lose all my saved projects?
Of course, it's always wise to have backup copies.
