Collective and Biotek have some really intense patches with big samples and high voice counts
If your system struggles, there are ways to minimize this - for example try reducing the voice count in Biotek
Also, don't forget to liberally use the freeze point technology to free up resources throughout your session - allowing you to use lots of heavy hitting synths without sucking down the CPU

Hmm, 8 cores at 3.20 GHz, fast SSD and 16 GB of RAM here, running with 256 samples buffer size.
This is not enough to play a simple drum set with Collective for more than a few seconds before it chokes out completely and never returns?
Interesting.

if collective is struggling even with that spec. something is definitely awry somewhere. audio drivers up to date? I presume you are also using a dedicated ASIO sound card as well? another thing to try, multi threading. does that make any difference if you are able to toggle it?( terminology might be a bit out on my part there ).
..anyway I'm off Christmas shopping for my next system upgrade. better monitors for a start. not to mention RAM!!

A good spec machine does not tell the whole story - lots of other factors can influence performance - our support team can help identify these issues, review system logs etc to get to the heart of it - be sure to drop them a message as they are always happy to help: support@tracktion.com

A new release version for Waveform 8 would be greatly appreciated!
I do appreciate the hard work of the Tracktion team for continuous improvements, as I have enjoyed Waveform and the fun factor, and I recommend this product all the time!!!
But it has been in perpetual beta since July 2017.

A quick word on this. In a bid to try and improve stability I was aiming to keep revision releases beta and then release the minor versions as full updates (major.minor.revision).But it has been in perpetual beta since July 2017.
This has become more difficult in recent months however as development priorities have somewhat shifted (the obvious item is W9, but there are some other things we're working on but keeping under wraps for the time being).
That and a closer focus on QA and testing has slowed the release cycle while we verify the current beta builds.
If all goes well though, I'll make 8.2.7 full public release this week.

A month is really not a long amount of time in dev land. This was compounded last month with the annual Audio Developers Conference which ate a lot of time and focus preparing for.And I would really appreciate some clear statements as this one from time to time in here so that you dont have to think a month: "do they still exist ?"
I do try to keep an eye on KVR but it is primarily a user forum. If you need direct support, that's what our support system is for support@tracktion.com. We usually reply within a day or two on that and it helps us direct issues to the relevant teams.
Unless we do a Gibson-esque press release you can assume we still exist
