Well, I'm pissed to hear back from Slate the following:
"This deal was only offered through our website.

All the best,
Jamey Zebrack"

All the best?!!! How about that's all the worst news you could give me in a curt, uncaring reply! And no sense of empathy for me the customer. Nor was this posted anywhere on their site. I've written back to Jesus to see what they can do with Slate. I never would have bought it for $200 without the incentives of the free 1-year subscription to Slate everything and the Audio Legends tuts, and the two JRR freebies. What a disappointment. I don't need another compressor for $200 lol. Even if it is the famed distressor plugin.

Well, let's see what JRR can work out with them. If Slate won't budge on this even though it was not made clear, I'll remember that treatment for a LOONNNNNGGGGG time. But before I get too bent out of shape about it, let's see what they decide to do. This will be a test of how they treat their customers...

If Slate doesn't don't do me right, I'll ask for a refund from JRR and then sell all my slate stuff and never buy from them again. We'll see though. How companies treat their customers is a big sign of whether they deserve our business in my opinion. As for this morning though, I'm pretty miffed with them.

Thanks for sharing. It's important to know how vendors deal with customer problems when they aren't being pressured. Slate, if you happen to see this, it doesn't matter to me how you resolve this, it's an automatic demerit.

Thank you ghetto. We think very much alike. There's a few others on here I sense we all think similarly. We are after all doing this stuff to have fun, and this is not making it fun at all. We're also value shoppers, hence this forum section. I have to see value and fun or I'm out. And in that regard treatment of us is paramount even over any potential price savings. Thanks for the post. And yes, even their initial reaction is remembered if not always in the customers interest. That's how I run my business. Customer wins even if it's at my loss because I wasn't clear. I don't give curt uncaring answers to my customers because I never want to lose them. It matters.

4 euros for a nice piano

SOMEONE TURN OFF MY INTERNET BEFORE I BUY EVERYTHING
$5 for a drunk piano? I'd say great deal, but I need to check to see if I have it already.

Waiting on the Sonokinectic sale now... and last year Toontrack had some great deals over the holidays too. I'm hoping for a great deal on grosso or Maximo.

Yeah, some freebies or lowbies from Sonokinetic and Toontrack would also soften the BF blow.

I had to work hard to put a dent in my wallet this BF. Meh, I even bought something somewhat expensive on total impulse without a demo LOL! GAS is a funny thing you know.

I even passed on Little One for pennies over dirt as well as the super discounted samples from Mars bundle. I think that I'm converging into a state of not really needing new plugins.

This must be where I get interested in orchestral sample libraries to keep the gas machine going. Mostly I purchased utility software, some of it wasn't even on sale LOL!

I recognize a pattern. Never test drive a new car :)

I managed to not buy the drunken piano. What is happening to me? :help:

Right !?! What I find interesting is that I'm using fewer synths in my music any more. I'm using samples far more often, mostly of pianos and other acoustic instruments, then they all get processed to sound un-acoustic. Even my drums have largely switched to sampling, but not very often of traditional drum samples. I like to, e.g., crumple a paper bag and make a drum kit from the sample. Although, I do seem to like cinematic drums...how cliche is that?

Fortunately, my ear for orchestral stuff is completely naff, so I'm quite happy with the multi gigabyte infusion that I got from KU11 combined with the freebies that made the rounds last year. I'm hoping that Sonokinetic has another awesome giveaway.

I guess we can just go ahead and get started with the Christmas presents already. I've even got some time off this year, so I will have time to keep up and install them all.

I passed too, but, in fairness, I think I have something like 30+ piano libraries on my system.

Yes, I also struggled to find compelling offers this year during BF as well.

I found very few. I grabbed only the following this year:
FG-Stress. Turning out to be exactly as it's name implies.
Slate VTC- Virtual Tube Collection $49
Toontrack Metal Machine SDX for $49
Toontrack Metalheads EZX for $19
VSTBuzz DopeVst for $31
All the little $1 pluginboutique offers on Soundspot plugs and Expand + new expansions.

Still thinking of grabbing the AAS Modeling Collection for $99 finally. Good deal right there for 6 plugs.
Was also thinking about the following:
Audiothing Outer Space for $36
Expose for $12
Kirnu Cream for $15 But I already have CreamCM. Might be good enough?
I took a pass on all the other Toontrack offers as they seemed to be the nonstandard timings, etc. paks. As well as EZmix2. It always sounded poor to my ear. But I sense Ezmix 3 is about to hit.

I'm also considering getting my upgrade to superior drummer 3 when the price drops.

As well as my upgrade to Cubase 9.5 for $60 here soon.
Think I'll pass on Ableton 10 upgrade as I just upgraded less than 9 months ago to 9 and they aren't giving me the free upgrade window. So now I'm really upset with myself that I even bothered to upgrade it so recently and it didn't benefit me at all. They won't budge. So I may just drop ableton for good going forward. They obviously don't care about me as much as the last few bucks they made off of me. No long term thinking there it seems...

Also intersted in upgrading my Reason elements to full but they never offer it for $99. And I already own every other daw except Sonar. LOLOLOL> I knew it! When I saw their 'Lifetime upgrades' offer last year I thought it wouldn't last long. I was right.

So not much I found compelling this year.

I reached out this year again to Nexus and they seem totally disinterested in discounting it below the $200 level again this Xmas. So I let them know I've been skipping it now going on like 15 years, or however long it's been out. I keep finding better discounts from others. Their loss again.

You did well with FG-Stress and VTC. Those are some of Slate's very best plugins.
Definitely get AAS. Mind-blowing models.
Get xFer Cthulhu instead of Cream.
And upgrade to full Reason.
It's really that good.

Is that an upgrade price? In any case, no Tassman so I've completely lost interest.
Expose for $12
Yeah, it's only $12, but Cubase does 90% of what it does and I already have it.
Kirnu Cream for $15 But I already have CreamCM. Might be good enough?
Yep!

Select one or more samples in your project, select Audio->Statistics and you will get a nice report on loudness.

I did the Reason upgrade. My last was Reason 4 and going to 10 for $99 is a real bargain, just looking at all that is improved. Im a Cubase user but this will allow me to easily collaborate with a co-writer
