Tracktion users,
Will be getting T7 soon and considering Waveform upgrade at next sale (or wait for W9).
I am contemplating purchasing an orchestral library and wondering about compatibility. There are several DAWs listed on some websites...for some reason Tracktion is never listed as compatible (or incompatible...just not listed at all! Seems to be left out of the loop for some reason), so need to ask the user base.
Does EastWest SO Silver (via EastWest Player, not Kontakt), Garritan Personal Orchetra 5 (via Aria Player) or Sonivox Orchestral Companion (5 separate VSTs) have any compatibility issues with T7 or W8?
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone tried thes libraries from the OP with T7 or W8?
I have Plogue Sforzando working with 20 instrument tracks with free libraries (SSO, VSCO2 CE) but want to move on from free stuff eventually.

The Sonivox Orchestral Companions work in Waveform.
I do not have the other libraries that you mentioned, but I will add that IK SampleTank 3 works well. There are some good orchestral instruments in the ST3 factory library. http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/sampletank3/
Plus you can always crossgrade to their Miroslav Philharmonik 2, which is SampleTank 3 compatible, if you need more. http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/philharmonik2/
The Virtual Instruments Composers forum is mostly about discussing orchestral libraries. This is where you are more likely to find answers on that topic. Just be warned, most of them are big spenders!

Thanks for you reply! Good to know about Sonivox. At the advice of the MakeMusic support tech, I downloaded ARIA player and it works with T6, so I imagine T7 and W8 will work, as well as the Garritan sample libraries. Now just need to find out about EastWest player.zzz00m wrote:The Sonivox Orchestral Companions work in Waveform.

Not sure if I want to go to VI...I poke around over there but am not a member. It's seems beyond my level (skill and $$$)!

Another option is the Kirk Hunter Virtuoso Ensembles, on sale now for $89, discounted from $299.jmcmillan wrote:

They are well regarded libraries over at VI, and this one works with the free Kontakt Player. I have used Kontakt Player in Waveform, so it is most likely to be compatible. If any doubts, head over to NI and download the free Kontakt Player and sample factory library to see if that works on your system.
