To answer my own question this isnt really an upgrade its for everyone, just successfully bought.

the posted link has an embedded tracker id in it for the person it was intended for (presumably why it says "hi charles") - not sure how it will play out with a bunch of people using the same link/id.

Dude, what is that? Soundforge and SpectraLayers included? I can't even use Samplitude since I'm on a Mac, but those other two are worth it alone.

EDIT: Well, I guess the Soundforge included isn't the Mac version. Oh well.

EDIT: Wrong again. You get the iZotope Mastering & Repair Suite, which is only available on Windows, from within Soundforge.

So I'm noticing a couple or three different FS threads for FabFilter plugins at the moment. I was under the impression that they were some of the holy grail products for mixing and mastering. I'm curious with what are people replacing them?

Ask them? Some of those FS include Twin, Volcano, and Saturn, which are easily jettisoned entirely in favor of native DAW offerings. There's one selling Q2 and MB, to which there are many competent alternatives. Another one never registered the license so it's a bartering unit, not a tool. There is no single commonly-accepted "holy grail" plugin in any category, where did you get that idea?

Universal Audio, you poopy pants!

Almost every UA plugin is on sale now, except the Distressor. I admit that I had very high hopes for their December Sales... and now I'm let down.

I totally don't get the poopy pants reference. But I have to say UA finally has some compelling pricing on a few items. I've been waiting for them to come down to having pricing in the $50 range on items. And with the $25 coupon in my cart, that makes a couple worth it for $25. And some of the $75 and $99 ones as well when $25 is taken off.

However, even though I own an Apollo Twin, I'm not so keen on purchashing DSP locked in plugins anymore. Not with my new Clarrett 8pre now and my fast 6700k and 32bg of ram. And it'll only get faster on the CPU and memory front. It doesn't make sense anymore to lock oneself into UAudio's limited ecosystem I don't think.

But I own it already, so maybe a few items that are exclusive and low enough... Like their plate 140 perhaps. Cooper time cube as well. Others? The PA stuff doesn't make any sense not to buy from PA as it's unlocked and often cheaper nowadays.
