Want to hear what your views of the comparison is.... But I imagine you purposely didn't comment in the video to skew others from their own 'observations'.
From your video it sounded like the hardware had a tad more bottom end than the software but by the time you spun around to move from one to the other, my ears/brain may have misrepresented what I just heard :-)
I was actually more fascinated how you can sit in that position so comfortably :-)

Exactly, didn't want to bias anyone with my opinions at their first listening. I will give it some days and then come up with the answers to the blind test and also my opinions on the Repro.

I'm sure they are. But my circle of music peers tends to not dump on other people's work. Maybe your circle is different.

(this was in response to the poster making commentary on both my circle of peers and some nasty commentary on Arturia. also edited to remove a swear that shouldn't be here but I was a bit angry).

dlarseninclusive wrote::tu: I am grinding through programming some Arturia Prophet V patches into Repro 5. The difference in sound quality is unreal. I used the Arturia plugin quite a bit, and now it just sounds like a toy. Or like an MP3 VS vinyl.
Just a reminder that the Arturia emulation has been pretty well respected for over a decade and is much lower on the CPU use scale ;) (not to mention is has the hybrid 5/VS mode). I think saying it sounds like a toy is just a tad unfair. If it really sounded like a toy you probably wouldn't have used it quite a bit as you noted. I'd hope in that over a decade we've made some progress on the programming front but Arturia was there a long time ago with a decent emulation.
Fair enough, it does not sound like a toy, some of the simpler patches I tested actually sound identical. Once you start hearing any resonance, they diverge significantly and I was rather awe struck by that, especially testing apples to apples side by side. Sorry that bothered you so much, not my intention. I will try to be more thoughtful in my comments.
Honestly I wasn't that bothered ;) Guess my point is there is room for everyone in this plugin space. I'm glad Urs and crew are moving the ball forward in quality. I absolutely love both Diva and Repro-1 but that doesn't mean there isn't a use for Arturia's product even with the release of a better emulation.

Fantastic video! Thanks for making this!

I'm happy to report that the MC works in the VIP plugin from Akai. I was also thinking Mutant's bug might be present in this sort of chainer plugin, but haven't tried to reproduce that yet. But I have three polyphonic patches playing all fine, from 6-8% CPU hit on 3440 i7 which is amazing to me.

What are the most taxing presets with the current test build?

Yeah Okay, Sorry but that is an odd point to make on the Repro-5 public beta testing thread.

I dunno about you guys but there was a huge difference for me. Whenever he was playing the Prophet-5 keyboard it looked way cooler regardless of which was producing the actual sound. Couldn't hear a difference at all though.

Great video!

:D :hyper: Sorry I had to share this thought.

"Can we get a feature, where the plugin checks the weather report, and detunes the plugin accordingly relating to temperature and humidity. "

Sorry in advance, it just made me laugh.
