"We shall now compare a real synthesizer with the software one" that right there, I stopped listening to your opinion right then.

One might add though that that is largely due to the amount of Windows 7 installations in countries like China and India, which have a lot of population, and which have a lot of illegitimate Windows 7 copies running on their machines. The amount of Windows 10 installations in Europe and North America, in other words, the regions which matter in this regard, should be higher than the Windows 7 installations.

I admit to being impressed by the audio demo's. Whether it's placebo, skill of the demo-maker, etc., I can't say. I'm also not sure whether it's any better than the modern crop of VA's (Diva, Xils stuff, etc.), but they've got my attention. Gotta say, though, that monophonic is a big limitation for me.
A well-behaved signature.

- Lower price than equivalent softsynth that is only a watered-down mimic of hardware.
Let's see... currently RePro1 and 5 cost $99

RePro-5 has 8 voices. I would have to buy 8 of these to equal that. Which would be something like $1350...
It's alright... the soft synth developers MUST defend their customer base. It's only logical to resist change that requires change.
You claimed it was cheaper... I demonstrated that your claim is incorrect. By a long shot.

I think it is an interesting development... I look forward to where it may go. Might even get one at some point, especially if there is a poly version and if it is MPE capable.

Such emulations are FREE.. you are selling REPRO.. just use the free ones... you can get some real sounds from FREE synths if you know which ones to do.. thus.. now technically.. you don't have to pay anything... you just need sound design skill. Thus... you are accurate.. you can get free softsynths all day. But a real analog sound... that is never an emulation.

Again... you made a claim that is not true.

It often happens with a product like this, that some person comes along and is so eager to promote it, that they become a turn off to people as they will say almost anything to justify their own enthusiasm. Guess you are that person in this thread :hihi:

btw, I am not selling any synth

Someone please point me to a free synth that sounds as good as Repro-1 and 5, or Diva.

Ask Layzer. He seems to know what they are.

Try: Tyrell N6, Blaukraut Charlatan, TAL-Noisemaker. There are a few others, but, those are the ones i know which sound very good and "analog". And all of these also have ZDF filters, AFAIK. In the case of TAL-Noisemaker, only the State Variable ones do have a ZDF model.

Those are all great synths. But as good? I guess that is subjective. But it does make the point that there are plenty of great software options, free and commercial, that make this dongle idea a potentially nice niche product and not a game changer.

Yeah, i agree with that. It surely won't make soft synths obsolete. Rather a "caught in the middle" thingie, which i am very unsure about how the reception will be.

I like the idea of a full featured poly analog synth the size of a wallet+... great for travel!

Yeah, like I said, niche product, but this guy repeatedly says it will put softsynths out of business, that VST developers are exploiting us all, that users that disagree with him are selling synths etc :hihi: My only contention is that it will make soft synth obsolete. I highly doubt that. I hope the thing is cool, personally I'd love to see something like that built into one of those micro sized controllers like Korg makes.

TBH, like has been said before in this thread, i think i'd rather go for something like the Behringer D, and spend a little more money, to get some hands on control, if i'd really be "on the market" for a analog synth (which i'm not sure i am). Can only speak for myself, but, IF a hardware synth, then surely not one which i have to control via a VST. There's no benefit i'd see then, apart from maybe 5% better sound.
