xmas is coming so I guess there will be a few interesting things. I already have a overload of delays :D but that Sandman Pro looks interesting.
Exactly what I'm looking at too!

I asked on another thread... But are the PA tiers based on actual $ spent (I assume) or usual price of the plugins?

I was getting $50 coupons but this month it's down to $35 for me? I really don't get their system. It's still nice though. Been interested in Subsynth so might jump on that for $14, otherwise wait and see what else they offer (plus the full reveal close to Xmas). Plugin Alliance make great stuff.

Strange. Might be worth a ticket. They have great and fast response.

same for me, was getting $50 vouchers, now down to $35.
I emailed them but she just explained it in just a confusing enough way that i couldn't be bothered to mail them again.

I just got $25 as usual, so it must be dollars spent because I have stuff worth over $600 now that I didn't pay that much for.

Opposite for me. Was getting $35 vouchers and this month I got $50. Strange.

Personally I think it's well worth spending around $1000 with Plugin Alliance. About 5 years ago, I decided to start investing in trying to add some quality effect based plugins to my set up that augmented what came as stock with Ableton as I didn't like the EQ all that much and thought the compressor was pretty limited. I looked at the various big names like Waves, UAD and IK but decided to go with Plugin Alliance as they were quite generous with steep discounts on sale items and always had a freebie or two to throw in a couple of times of year. So instead of cherry picking what I liked from other vendors I tested just the PA stuff and liked the quality of their stuff over and above what I had already with Ableton.

I originally spent aroung $1000 in a 3 year period and then would only go and look for stuff after that if a great deal came along. I don't recall having a great deal of their plugins at the time from them, just enough to give me a different flavour on staple items and some special processing tools to use in mastering scenarios.

This years voucher scheme has been great because it gave me access to a lot more of their high end plugins that I could discount against a $75 voucher. I now own the following (listed below).

From the quick analysis I have done and the fact that I have received $75 vouchers all year, it now works out to having paid around $17 a plugin which is pretty cool I think. This month I will be buying the Fiedler Stage plugin which is very new and is a pretty cool spatial effect after testing it out. Just goes to show that a bit of Brand loyalty goes a long way because I certainly feel that PA have taken good care of me over the years whereas I don't see a similar model from any other big name vendors.

Did you Sell any PA Plugins last Month or before that?

I calculated all my PA Receipts till Nov, and I've spent a little more than $600, but haven't received $50 this month as I was Expecting, instead $35 again......I've sold 2 PA Plugins from my collection till date though.....

Overall Tricky, just Spend a lot like the Rich Hobbyists and Engineers and you are guaranteed to get $50 - $75 everytime....

It's simple math. Give someone a subscription for $20 a month. You now have $20 a month.

Give someone a $25 voucher every month, which they use against a $49 plugin every month. You now have $24 a month. Or maybe every other month that person decides to go for that $99 plugin instead of the $49. That's $49 a month.

The math don't lie. Their voucher + sale business model is superior to a subscription in basically every way. You own your plugin for life, they build more goodwill, and they leave you the option of spending a lot of money during a month (which you would never do with an everything subscription, because why would you?)

And once you're at the level that they're giving you $75 vouchers? You already own a ton of their plugins, so they up the ante. You know what that $75 voucher gets them? A ton of people with $25 vouchers trying to get to that level, because it's so desirable.

Or maybe you use your voucher on a bunch of plugins you don't really care about, so you flip them on the marketplace. Guess what? That's $20 a pop for them also. Still better than selling you a subscription.

Does anyone know if the monthly Plugin Alliance vouchers can be "partially" used at different times throughout the month?

For instance, if I have a $50 voucher, can I buy a $29 plugin today for free basically and then a week or two later put the remaining $19 of the voucher towards a different plugin?

I'm thinking about picking up only the Lindell Audio 254E ($29) today with a $50 voucher, but don't want the lose the remaining value of the voucher in case another good sale comes up later this month.

Nope that's not possible unfortunately...
But I'll trade you my $25 voucher :)

I think they usually offer all the plugins again at the end of the month so it might be worth waiting until after Christmas. That way you get the multiple plugin discount too :D

Sounds like a good plan. Thanks!

I remember Dirk saying something like the vouchers are calculated on what you spent in their shop in the last 12 months over at gearslutz, but he was also not 100% sure. At least it would explain why some people drop to a lower voucher tier.
