:dog:

they just want free toys. at the cost of the development of the DAW apparently.
So have you even tried to use the Sampler? Or are you too busy assuming you know what everyone thinks?

The arguments you make could be applied to anything in Bitwig. Why have effects, when you could just buy 3rd party? Why have a synth, when 3rd party ones are better? Etc.

The Sampler in Bitwig is so bare bones that it not only looks bad, but it doesn't really have that much of a function. Spend time developing it and you give users another tool to work with, and you make Bitwig that much better, potentially bringing in new users as well.

@conmach... 50 bucks? Where? :D :D :o :lol:

Damn it. I invested 179€ in Fxpansion Geist 2.
A year of upgrades in BWS.
Nah kidding i just wanted the thing.

But yes +1 on sampler.
Im convinced BWS is already working on it.
Next march 2018...  :clown:

dude, read, that is my point. buy a DAW for being a DAW. not for being a santa package with a sh*tload off soso goodies you will not use.
do you use the synth? i don't, i have better ones, some even 10 year old free ones.
same for the sampler. black friday left me 2 new ones with functions bws will never ever implement.

!i'm not complaining! just asking you guys to focus on the main thing and let the dev's work on the DAW, don't let them spoil their talents on stuff they don't have time for.
they can not compete with companies who specialize in those products, they will always loose those battles.

It wouldn't be that hard to create a kick ass sampler in Bitwig, one that could benefit from the modulators already there, and one that would easily surpass most samplers on the market. This would help distinguish Bitwig even more as a go to DAW, and make it an attractive feature.
I doubt anyone disagrees with wanting an improved Sampler... just what the priority should be. There are various other features/improvements I would prefer to see developer time go into first.

I feel that opening up the modular features originally promised for v2 should be highest priority

Yeh Im agreeing with codec on this one, definitely not the highest priority. Oh and check out Nuance too..

I use the current sampler - seems fine to me. I love Bitwig for the unique features that surprise me - if they upgrade the sampler then I hope for features that differentiate.
Really disappoints me this KVR/Bitwig forum gets overloaded with "feature" cOmpaigns.

I did a search, but did not come across any audio/video showing the sound of Nuance...

When it comes to 3rd party samplers , there is only one option for me . It is Redux from renoise .
Really great full of unique features.

Bitwig’s mod controls are precisely why we need a better sampler. With software like Logic, where each device is pretty much self-contained (with built-in LFOs, etc), it’s reasonable to expect users to expand their palette with 3rd parties plugins; but the whole point of Bitwig’s modular approach is to combine multiple micro devices into complex matrices of creamy goodness. Not including, for example, basic looping functions in the sampler greatly stunts Bitwig’s potential qua Bitwig.

You’re welcome.

Been there... there are no audio/video demos

I certainly do not understand. I am not asking Bitwig to make the polysynth better. In fact, I never use the polysynth. I use synths made by experts in the field of synth making. If I would use a sampler, I would get the best or one of the best out there, made by people dedicated to making samplers. And then I would use them in a DAW made by people whose field of expertise is in making a DAW.

This said, I should take a look at the polysynth since every tool can potentially be an inspiration. But with all the professional synths that I use and rely upon, the idea of asking Bitwig to make polysynth better wouldn't cross my mind.

Cheers.

Love Bitwig, never used the sampler (have Halion, Kontakt etc) I see people asking for features in a sampler that are easily achieved in the audio editor; make your loop, cross fade etc then drag in to sampler if you want to play it chromatically.

Personally I also prefer to see DAW features developed before rack instruments (where the are alternatives) and I also agree that opening up the modular system would give rise to many many more instruments and improvements from the user community and 3rd party developers, so that will probably be the biggest gear change for Bitwig (like app,e opening the App Store!)
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
